Leads all accounting activities for designated business/market/function in accordance with JM Group and Sector policies and procedures. Actively partners with the business to deliver high performance finance objectives. Lead Finance for a mid-sized business, typically managing a mid-large sized team for 1 or 2 main sites in a country/region.

The role:

As an Asia Controller, you will help drive our goals by:

  • Responsible for accuracy and controls and compliance of monthly P&L and Balance sheet accounts for all Asia Clean Air and Corporate locations, including the bi-annual review for the Filings Assurance process and management of the external audit process.

  • Management of the Controllership teams across the Clean Air Asia manufacturing sites. Determine how to allocate Finance resources to drive the greatest return on investment whilst managing risk.

  • Drive/embed simplification in order to reduce inefficiencies within the business; build robust, disciplined governance and influence ‘ways of working’

  • Work closely with other Regional Controllers to support succession planning, talent development and mobility across the Controllership community, building a strong and sustainable pipeline of future controllership leaders

  • Proactively identify and manage business and financial risk, ensure compliance with group financial policies and accounting standards


Key skills that will help you succeed in this role
:

  • Anticipate risks, complex issues, challenges, and opportunities, and ensure integration with the wider finance and organisational strategy.

  • Build appropriate control environment, policies and procedures across the function. Deploy the Group control environment (as defined by Group Internal Control) and review whether additional controls are required working alongside the Group Internal Control team, to take into account specific risks within the Clean Air Asia and Corporate locations.

  • Support the Regional Clean Air Finance Director and Group Functional Cost Lead as a trusted business partner by providing challenge, insight and clear financial guidance, while maintaining a robust control environment that underpins sound decision making, effective risk management and delivery of regional priorities. Drive/embed simplification in order to reduce inefficiencies within the business; build robust, disciplined governance and influence ‘ways of working’.

  • Work closely with local Commercial and Ops / FP&A teams within the locations creating a real and active partnership. Develop a deep understanding of the business and deliver information in a clear and user-friendly manner.

  • Management of the Controllership teams across all Clean Air Asia locations. Determine how to structure and allocate Controllership resources to drive the greatest return on investment whilst managing risk.

  • Build, lead, motivate, manage and develop the capabilities of the Controllership teams in line with the finance career framework and provide timely feedback on performance. Identify the finance resource capabilities required to meet current and emerging business needs.
