Our client is a regional industrial automation and power system provider, specializing in the design, manufacturing, and integration of process control systems, power distribution panels, and Ex solar PV systems. They serve a diverse range of industries, including oil & gas, grains, edible oils, and food manufacturing. With a strong international presence across Malaysia, China, Singapore, and Thailand, the company operates multiple manufacturing facilities and branch offices. About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Assistant Finance Manager to join the finance team. This role is critical in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial operations across the group. You will be responsible for full-set accounting, financial reporting, tax compliance, cash flow monitoring, and process improvements. This position also offers the opportunity to lead junior staff, liaise with external stakeholders, and participate in system implementation projects and other finance-related initiatives.
Job Responsibilities
- Full-Set Accounting: Prepare and maintain full sets of accounts, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
- Financial Closing: Handle monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing activities in a timely and accurate manner.
- Reporting: Prepare management reports, financial statements, and cash flow forecasts for management review.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and statutory requirements (including SST/GST and corporate tax submissions).
- Stakeholder Liaison: Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, bankers, company secretaries, and regulatory authorities.
- Treasury & Cash Flow: Monitor cash flow and treasury functions to ensure sufficient working capital.
- Process Improvement: Review and improve accounting processes, financial controls, and operational efficiencies.
- Team Supervision: Supervise and guide junior finance staff when required.
- Record Maintenance: Ensure proper documentation and maintenance of accounting records and supporting documents.
- Projects & Ad-Hoc: Participate in finance-related projects, system implementation initiatives, and handle ad-hoc assignments as assigned by management.
Job Requirements
- Education: Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or equivalent professional qualification (ACCA/CPA).
- Professional Membership: Certified MIA member.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of working experience in finance or accounting, preferably with exposure to operational or manufacturing accounting.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong knowledge of accounting standards, taxation, and financial reporting.
- Software Skills: Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Soft Skills: Good analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Personal Attributes: Able to work independently and meet tight deadlines, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
