Key Responsibilities
All MR. D.I.Y. stores are managed directly and the retailer often works in collaboration with owners of shopfront properties or owners of malls. MR. D.I.Y. stores offer a wide selection of SKUs across five major categories, namely hardware; household and furnishing; electrical; stationery and sports equipment products; and others (comprising toys, car accessories, jewellery, cosmetics, food and beverage items, as well as health and personal care).

- Lead and oversee lease renewal activities for existing MR D.I.Y. retail stores across Malaysia, ensuring tenancy agreements are executed within the stipulated timeline.
- Negotiate with landlords on lease renewals, rental revisions, tenancy terms, operational matters, store closures, and ownership changes while safeguarding the Company's interests.
- Review tenancy agreements, letters of offer, and other lease-related documentation in collaboration with internal stakeholders and legal representatives.
- Manage and maintain the Property Management System (PMS), including the creation, modification, and updating of property and tenancy records for new and existing stores.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of tenancy, rental, and property databases through timely data maintenance and administration.
- Coordinate closely with Legal, Finance, Operations, landlords, and external solicitors to facilitate lease execution, payment matters, and operational requirements.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with landlords, shopping mall management, and property owners to support long-term business partnerships.
- Monitor lease expiry schedules, rental obligations, and key property milestones to ensure compliance with company policies and departmental KPIs.
- Prepare and analyse reports relating to lease renewals, tenancy status, rental commitments, and property portfolio performance for management review.
- Support the Senior Manager in driving process improvements, ensuring compliance with departmental SOPs, and providing guidance to junior team members where required.
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Property Management, Estate Management, Real Estate, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in retail property management, real estate, leasing, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience managing lease renewals, tenancy administration, and landlord negotiations.
- Experience using Property Management Systems (PMS) or similar real estate management systems is an added advantage.
- Strong understanding of tenancy agreements, lease administration, and retail property management practices.
- Excellent negotiation, stakeholder management, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with landlords, mall management, legal firms, and internal stakeholders.
- Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities independently while meeting deadlines.
- Familiar with company policies, lease documentation, and property-related legal processes.
- Possess a valid driving licence and be willing to travel nationwide when required.
- Self-motivated, independent, and capable of working with minimal supervision.
