About the Client
A well-established precision engineering firm based in Malaysia, specializing in high-quality CNC machining, tooling, and custom part fabrication for the automotive, electronics, and medical device industries. The company is known for its commitment to tight tolerances, advanced manufacturing processes, and reliable delivery to both local and international clients.
Job Purpose
To supervise daily CNC milling operations, ensure production targets are achieved, maintain quality standards, optimize machine utilization, and lead operators and machinists in accordance with company procedures and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
1. Production Supervision
- Monitor daily CNC milling production activities.
- Ensure production follows the production schedule.
- Allocate manpower according to workload and machine requirements.
- Monitor machine loading and machine utilization.
- Ensure jobs are completed according to delivery commitments.
2. Quality Control
- Ensure operators follow approved drawings, SOPs, and work instructions.
- Verify first-piece approval is completed before mass production.
- Monitor production quality and reject rates.
- Coordinate with QA department to resolve production quality issues.
- Ensure non-conforming products are properly identified and controlled.
3. Machine & Equipment Management
- Monitor machine condition and report abnormalities.
- Coordinate with Maintenance for machine repairs and preventive maintenance.
- Ensure proper machine housekeeping and basic operator maintenance.
- Monitor cutting tool usage and tooling condition.
4. Workforce Management
- Lead CNC milling operators and machinists.
- Conduct daily production briefings.
- Monitor attendance, punctuality, and discipline.
- Train and guide new operators.
- Evaluate operator performance and skill development.
5. Productivity Improvement
- Monitor cycle time and production efficiency.
- Identify bottlenecks affecting output.
- Work with Engineering and Production teams to improve productivity.
- Reduce machine downtime and setup time.
6. Safety & Housekeeping
- Ensure compliance with company safety rules.
- Ensure proper PPE usage.
- Maintain 5S standards in the milling area.
- Report safety hazards immediately.
7. Documentation & Reporting
- Verify production records are completed correctly.
- Monitor job card and work order compliance.
- Prepare daily production reports.
- Escalate production issues to Production Manager.
Job Requirements
- Diploma or equivalent technical qualification preferred.
- Minimum 5 years CNC Milling experience.
- Minimum 2 years supervisory experience.
- Able to read engineering drawings and GD&T.
- Familiar with CNC milling processes, tooling, and machining parameters.
- Basic ERP and computer knowledge.
- Good leadership and communication skills.
