How will you fit in the big picture?
The Controller Inventory – Malaysia & India is a key leadership role within Supply Chain Accounting responsible for overseeing inventory and manufacturing accounting activities across Hershey’s manufacturing facilities in Malaysia and India. As the subject matter expert for inventory accounting, cost accounting, manufacturing controls, and financial governance, you will help ensure inventory-related transactions are accurately reflected in the financial statements and comply with US GAAP, SOX, and corporate accounting policies.
This newly created role supports Hershey’s finance transformation and operating model redesign by centralizing inventory accounting responsibilities, strengthening governance, and driving greater consistency across the regional manufacturing network. You will partner closely with Operations, Supply Chain, FP&A, Plant Finance, and Shared Services teams to improve financial accuracy, enhance controls, and support business performance.

What will you do?
- Lead Complex Accounting Analyses Performs in-depth analysis of complex accounting matters with broad financial impact. This responsibility supports accurate interpretation and application of accounting standards. The outcome is high-quality, defensible accounting conclusions.
- Provide Functional and Technical Guidance and Advisory Support Advises stakeholders on accounting implications of transactions and initiatives. This work ensures decisions align with accounting requirements and organizational objectives. The outcome is informed decision-making across the division.
- Oversee Financial Reporting Accuracy Reviews financial results, disclosures, and schedules for accuracy and completeness. This responsibility ensures reporting integrity and compliance. The outcome is reliable financial information for leadership and external stakeholders.
- Support Audits and Regulatory Reviews Serves as a key accounting contact during audits and reviews. This work ensures issues are addressed promptly and appropriately. The outcome is efficient audit execution and reduced risk exposure.
- Influence Process and Control Enhancements Leads initiatives to strengthen controls and improve accounting processes. This responsibility enhances consistency and risk management. The outcome is a more resilient accounting environment.
Experience: 5+ years of progressive accounting experience within manufacturing environments.
- Strong inventory accounting and cost accounting experience.
- Experience supporting multiple manufacturing locations or plant networks.
- Advanced knowledge of US GAAP and internal controls.
- Experience supporting SOX compliance and audit activities.
- Hands-on SAP experience, including inventory and manufacturing accounting modules.
- Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with Operations, Supply Chain, and Finance leaders.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
- CPA, CA, ACCA, CMA, or equivalent professional qualification preferred.
- CPA or equivalent certification.
- Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry experience.
- Experience working in multi-plant manufacturing environments.
- Experience with process automation, Power BI, Copilot, RPA, AI, or SAP transformation initiatives.
- Experience leading accounting transformation and continuous improvement programs.
