Your Role And Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced leader to serve as the Country HSE & Security Lead for ABB Malaysia. This is a pivotal senior country leadership position that reports directly to the Country Holding Officer (CHO) and combines country-level HSE & Security governance with the critical mandate of managing Health, Safety & Environment. As a champion of our Human Rights (HuRi) initiatives and sustainability leadership, you will drive a culture of safety, compliance, and responsible business practices across all ABB operations in Malaysia, while representing ABB externally to customers, local authorities, and key stakeholders.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Supporting line managers and supervisors in the organization in understanding obligations, liabilities and requirements
• Ensuring appropriate tools and measures are in place and used effectively, at the same time reporting the HSE incidents.
• Reporting on HSE performance and progress with respect to the Group objectives
• Driving behavioral change and ensuring HSE capabilities are optimized and aligned to standards and best practices
  
  
  

Qualifications For The Role

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive HSE leadership experience within a manufacturing, industrial, or operational environment, including at least 5 years in a country-level, regional, or strategic HSE management role.
• In-depth knowledge of Malaysian Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations, with a proven track record of ensuring regulatory compliance and driving a strong safety culture.
• Demonstrated success in developing, implementing, and overseeing HSE programs across multiple sites, business units, or countries.
• Valid DOSH Green Card certification and registration.
• Strong working knowledge of Malaysia's Occupational Safety and Health legislation, including the OSH Act 1994, OSHA requirements, USECHH Regulations, and other relevant DOSH standards and guidelines.
• Proven ability to engage stakeholders at all levels, influence leadership teams, and drive continuous improvement in HSE performance
