Customs Broker Clerk

Principal Objective of Role
- Prepare custom entries and manage client account
Key responsibilities and tasks
- Review pre-alerts including invoice, AWB/BL, packing list etc
- Identify licensed items and liaise with relevant internal team.
- Prepare worksheet in turbo broker
- Prepare entries in ASYCUDA.
- Prepare manifest in ASYCUDA
- Respond to queries in ASYCUDA
- Follow up with relevant Gov’t agencies.
- Apply for Commissioner General letters.
- Manitain a log of entries validated and customs queries
- Ensure entries are processed within KPI.
- Review pre-payment account balance in ASYCUDA
- Inspection of export cargo(if necessary)
- Clearance at ports(if necessary)
- Handling any other ad hoc work
Qualifications and competencies
- Minimum of 5 passes at CXC including Maths, English
- Minimum of Five (5) years of proven experience in Custom Brokerage
- Fully trained and registered with Asycuda World
- Complete understanding of BWS values
- Ability to communicate and manage in a respectful yet efficient manner
- Strong communication skills both written and oral
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office
