Role

We are seeking an experienced Data Platform Technical Lead to provide technical leadership for enterprise data platform, data warehouse, and data modernisation initiatives.

The successful candidate will be responsible for solution design, technical delivery, platform implementation, migration, optimisation, and engineering leadership across modern cloud data platforms. Working closely with architects, project managers, engineers, vendors, and customer teams, you will ensure solutions are delivered successfully and at enterprise scale.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the technical delivery of enterprise data platform and data warehouse projects.
• Design and review solution architectures, data models, and integration approaches.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to data engineering teams.
• Lead platform implementation, migration, and modernisation activities.
• Review technical designs, pipelines, code, and deployment approaches.
• Troubleshoot complex technical, performance, and integration challenges.
• Establish and promote best practices for data engineering, security, scalability, and operational readiness.
• Mentor team members and support technical capability development.

Requirements:

• 7 years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Warehousing, Data Platforms, Analytics Engineering, or related fields.
• Proven experience leading the technical delivery of at least one enterprise-scale data platform, data warehouse, or data modernisation project from design through production deployment.
• Strong experience with one or more modern data platforms:
• Snowflake
• Databricks
• Microsoft Fabric
• Azure Synapse
• Google BigQuery
• Amazon Redshift
• Similar cloud data platforms
• Strong knowledge of SQL, ETL/ELT, Data Modelling, Data Integration, and Performance Optimisation.
• Experience leading technical teams through design, build, testing, deployment, and production support.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Highly Preferred:

• Hands-on experience with Snowflake and/or Databricks.
• Experience with enterprise data warehouse modernisation and migration initiatives.
• Experience migrating legacy platforms such as Teradata, Oracle, SQL Server, Netezza, or Hadoop.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Experience working in consulting, system integration, or customer-facing delivery environments.
• Experience within Financial Services, Banking, Insurance, Telecommunications, Manufacturing, or other large enterprise environments.

Nice to Have:

• Snowflake SnowPro Certification.
• Databricks Certification.
• Azure, AWS, or GCP Certifications.
