We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator – Mandarin Speaker to support and maintain enterprise database environments, ensuring stability, performance, and security while collaborating with Mandarin-speaking clients.

Responsibilities

• Administer, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise database environments.
• Provide day-to-day operational support to ensure database availability, performance, and stability.
• Install, configure, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot databases.
• Utilize Linux/Unix commands for database administration, system monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Identify and resolve database performance issues, connectivity problems, and operational incidents.
• Support database backup, recovery, restoration, and data protection activities.
• Monitor database health, capacity, and system resource utilization.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot networking issues, including DNS, DHCP, and connectivity.
• Support database-related storage infrastructure such as NAS, SAN, RAID, and NFS.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and database teams to resolve technical issues.
• Ensure database stability, availability, security, and operational efficiency.
  
  

Requirements

Must-have:

• Diploma or higher in a related discipline.
• Applicants must have the legal right to work in Malaysia. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
• Proficiency in Mandarin is required for this position.
• Strong hands-on experience in database administration, database support, or database troubleshooting.
• Experience in at least one of the following database technologies: Oracle, MySQL, SAP HANA, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Cassandra, or other enterprise database technologies.
• Strong proficiency in Linux/Unix commands and command-line troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience working with databases hosted on Linux/Unix environments.
• Good understanding of database monitoring, performance troubleshooting, backup, and recovery.
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including DNS, DHCP, and connectivity troubleshooting.
• Basic to intermediate knowledge of storage technologies such as NAS, SAN, RAID, and NFS.
  
  

Nice-to-have

• Professional certifications related to database administration, RHCSA, RHCE, CCNA, or CCNP.
• Knowledge of Windows Server administration and troubleshooting.
• Experience with Commvault or other enterprise backup and data protection solutions.
• Experience in shell scripting or automation using Linux/Unix.
• Previous experience supporting enterprise IT infrastructure or production database environments.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and teamwork skills in an enterprise IT environment.
