The Role

• Maintain and update the General Ledger, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded and comply with established accounting standards and company policies.
• Prepare, review, and post journal entries, accruals, prepayments, provisions, and other month-end adjustments.
• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and ensure all accounts are properly substantiated, with discrepancies investigated and resolved in a timely manner.
• Assist in the preparation and review of monthly financial statements, management reports, and supporting schedules.
• Coordinate and execute month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Monitor expenses, revenue postings, and account balances to ensure proper classification and accuracy of financial records.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, financial policies, statutory requirements, and established accounting procedures.
• Liaise with relevant departments to obtain financial information, investigate variances, and resolve accounting discrepancies.
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors, providing the necessary schedules, supporting documents, and explanations during audit exercises.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency.
• Perform other finance-related duties and assignments as required.
  
  

Talent Profile

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. Professional accounting qualifications (ACCA, CPA, CIMA or equivalent) will be an added advantage.
• Minimum 2 - 3 years of relevant working experience in accounting or finance, preferably with exposure to General Ledger functions.
• Previous experience in the hospitality industry, particularly within a 4-star or 5-star hotel or resort, will be an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, General Ledger operations, and month-end closing procedures.
• Hands-on experience in preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and prepayments.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel. Familiarity with hotel accounting systems will be an added advantage.
• Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Able to work independently, manage priorities, and meet strict reporting deadlines.
• Possess good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with different departments.
• Demonstrate a high level of integrity, accountability, and professionalism.
