What You’ll Do
This role provides regional finance and commercial support for project contract review and execution across Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, with potential expansion to other East Asia countries. The primary function is to review finance-related contract terms, support negotiation, and ensure effective execution to manage financial risks, improve cash flow, and support project margin.
The role acts as a regional finance partner, supporting cross-country projects and ensuring consistency in contract review, billing follow-up, and commercial practices.
Strengthen billing discipline and reduce unbilled exposure regionally.
Support increasing cross-border project complexity.
Review project contracts across multiple EA countries, focusing on finance and commercial terms.
Support end-to-end contract review, including payment structure, billing triggers, retention, BG and insurance, etc, recommend practical solutions
Review and negotiate milestone payment structures to optimize cash flow at a regional level..
Support coordinate and negotiate bank guarantee requirements between treasury and customer
Coordinate insurance-related term review with internal stakeholders and customer.
Work with finance and tax teams to assess tax implications in contract terms.
Actively follow up on unbilled invoices and resolve billing delays with project and operations teams.
Collaborate with country finance and project teams to improve billing cycle and collection readiness.
Review project costing sheets and validate key commercial and financial assumptions.
Partner with sales and project teams during bidding and project setup.
Ensure compliance with company policies, governance standards and local regulatory requirements.
Maintain proper documentation and consistency in contract review practices across the region.
Support process standardization and continuous improvement in project finance practices, and billing follow-up.
Support ad-hoc requests and cross-functional initiatives as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field.
Experience in commercial finance, project finance, contract review, or project controlling.
Experience In a Regional Or Multinational Environment Is Preferred.
Exposure to cross-border projects is an advantage.
Strong understanding of contract commercial terms and project business models.
Knowledge of milestone billing, working capital, and unbilled receivables.
Familiarity with bank guarantees, insurance, and financial risk review.
Basic understanding of cross-border tax considerations.
Strong Excel skills; SAP knowledge is preferred.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good business judgment and risk awareness.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Detail-oriented and proactive.
Fluent in English, Malay, and Bahasa Indonesia
Ability to understand Chinese is preferred
