Junior Buyer/Buyer

Job Description

Purchasing

• Source, evaluate, and select suppliers for materials, components, and services.
• Issue Purchase Orders (POs) and ensure timely delivery of goods.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to achieve cost savings.
• Monitor supplier performance (delivery, quality, responsiveness).
• Resolve supply issues, shortages, and discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records in ERP systems.
  
  

Planning (Material / Production Planning)

• Analyze demand forecasts and create material requirement plans (MRP).
• Plan inventory levels to meet production needs while minimizing excess stock.
• Coordinate with production, warehouse, and logistics teams on scheduling.
• Monitor stock levels and take action to avoid stock outs or overstock.
• Adjust plans based on changes in demand, supply disruptions, or production priorities.
  
  

Supplier & Stakeholder Coordination

• Communicate with suppliers regarding delivery schedules and changes.
• Collaborate with internal teams (Production, Engineering, QA, Finance).
• Support new product introductions and sourcing activities.
  
  

Reporting & Analysis

• Prepare reports on purchasing trends, cost savings, and inventory status.
• Analyze data to improve planning accuracy and procurement efficiency.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives in supply chain processes.
  
  

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of relevant experience in purchasing, planning, or supply chain functions (depending on seniority level).
• Strong understanding of planning and purchasing item attributes within Oracle ERP system.
• Proven negotiation skills with the ability to manage and develop supplier relationships effectively.
• Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent communication, coordination, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage a wide range of detailed and diverse tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Capability to integrate cross-functional knowledge, including manufacturing processes, customer service requirements, accounting principles, product design, and ERP system functionalities.
• Due to business needs, proficiency in both English and Mandarin (written and verbal) is preferred.
