Laboratory Chemist

Key Responsibilities
-Meet manufacturing policy, objectives and goals
-Plan, set up and carry out experiments and syntheses
-Perform laboratory testing, analysis, data interpretation and report preparation
-Verify reliability and accuracy of test results
-Write analytical reports and present results
-Develop new test methods
-Maintain laboratory activities in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025:2017 and SAMM requirements
-Maintain laboratory inventory, equipment and records
-Supervise laboratory personnel and coordinate daily jobs
-Ensure laboratory safety and compliance
-Conduct testing at customer sites when required
-Perform any other duties assigned by superior/company

Authority & Control
-Stop experiments/testing if unsafe conditions are identified
-Stop non-conforming work and initiate investigations
-Stop machine/process when unsafe for laboratory use

Requirements
-Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Engineering (Chemical/Material/Environmental) or equivalent
-Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience
-Experience handling laboratory equipment
-Computer literate
-Good English communication skills
-Ability to travel when required and work independently
-Self-motivated, responsible and result-oriented
-Meticulous in experiments, observations and reporting
