LEAN Staff Engineer

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

• Responsible to establish, review, implement and maintain Lean methodologies throughout plantwide to improve productivity, increase throughput, reduce excess inventory and reduce operating cost.
• Lead and manage Lean Manufacturing programs. Develop/review/maintain Lean projects like Kaizen activity, VSM, Line Balancing Pull system based on Takt time.
• Embark on productivity improvement and costs savings projects. To stay up to date on latest developments and trends in Lean Manufacturing methodologies.
• Practice Risk Base Thinking in planning and executing projects. Project function is clear. Simple Design, Value is delivered, Waste is minimal.
• In depth knowledge on Value Stream Mapping (VSM). Able to compute Takt Time based on customer's demand. Plot VSM by process steps and improvise in terms of Lead Time, reduce 8 LEAN waste, Process Integration & Ultimately to achieve world class manufacturing plant.
• Work closely with Industrial Engineering (IE) team to Identify bottle neck process & tackle the constraint.
• Master in calculating project cost saving that impact the reduction in operation cost by Product BOM & Work closely with finance team on project cost saving declaration, acceptance & approval process.
• Performing any other duties as directed by the immediate superior from time to time & etc...
  
  

Education & Experience

• A bachelor’s degree in Related Engineering filed or its equivalents with at least 3 years of relevant work experience in similar or semiconductor filed.
  
  

Skills

• Leadership capabilities to aligned manage a team member from cross funtional teams on project execution.
• Possess strong interpersonal skills and enjoy the process of problem-solving & ability to think out of box to tackle certain issues.
• Work effectively with other members of Coherent Corp. cross functional team.
  
  

Working Conditions

• This role is 100% onsite.
• Project execution team that needs some time to work long hours.
