Logistics Officer - Malaysia

We are looking for a Logistics Officer to join our Malaysia team and play a key role in coordinating international logistics, freight and supply chain activities.
This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys working across suppliers, freight forwarders, procurement and internal teams, while looking for smarter, more cost-effective ways to move materials across borders.
You will be responsible for ensuring materials arrive on time, compliantly and at the right cost, while supporting continuous improvement across our international supply chain.
What you'll doCoordinate international inbound shipments to ensure timely, compliant and cost-effective delivery of materials.
Obtain and evaluate freight quotations and recommend transport solutions that balance cost, service and operational requirements.
Work closely with suppliers and freight forwarders to consolidate shipments, optimise transport modes and reduce freight costs.
Support procurement activities including purchase orders, supplier follow-up and material availability.
Manage import/export documentation, Incoterms, tariff codes and customs compliance requirements.
Support the effective use of Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) and duty concession schemes to maximise potential duty savings.
Maintain accurate certificates of origin, duty exemption/licence approvals and other trade compliance records.
Monitor supplier and freight forwarder performance, identify risks and recommend improvements.
Prepare logistics KPI reports, freight cost analysis, benchmarking data and cost-saving recommendations.
Identify and support continuous improvement initiatives to improve freight efficiency, cost control and supply chain performance.
Build strong working relationships with suppliers, customs brokers, freight forwarders and internal stakeholders.
Support the establishment and effectiveness of logistics hubs as the business grows.
3–5 years of experience in international logistics, freight forwarding, procurement or supply chain coordination.
Strong knowledge of international air and sea freight operations, Incoterms, import/export compliance and customs documentation.
Experience working with freight forwarders and logistics providers to optimise freight costs and shipment consolidation.
Knowledge of relevant Free Trade Agreements and duty concession schemes is highly desirable.
Experience with ERP/MRP or freight management systems.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; Power BI experience is an advantage.
Experience preparing logistics KPIs, management reports and data-driven cost reduction initiatives.
Strong analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across international teams.

QualificationsDegree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Commerce or a related discipline.
APICS or equivalent supply chain qualification is desirable.
Knowledge of ISO systems and import compliance is advantageous.
