Your Job
You will lead and own product assembly technology and provide technical support across the product lifecycle. This role evaluates manufacturability, assembly costs and fixture costs for new products, drives design-for-assembly and machine-fit improvements to reduce cost, and develops, debugs and maintains assembly fixtures, processes and related production documentation to ensure reliable, cost-effective manufacturing.
Our Team
This role is part of Operations - DSS Engineering based in Penang and reports to the Engineering Supervisor. The team supports cross-functional manufacturing, quality and procurement partners to implement assembly technologies and continuous improvement for ICM products.

This role evaluates manufacturability, assembly costs and fixture costs for new products, drives design-for-assembly and machine-fit improvements to reduce cost, and develops, debugs and maintains assembly fixtures, processes and related production documentation to ensure reliable, cost-effective manufacturing.
Our Team
This role is part of Operations - DSS Engineering based in Penang and reports to the Engineering Supervisor. The team supports cross-functional manufacturing, quality and procurement partners to implement assembly technologies and continuous improvement for ICM products.
What You Will Do
- Take responsibility for product assembly technology and provide ongoing technical support for manufacturing.
- Evaluate new-product manufacturability, estimate assembly cost and fixture cost, and drive feasibility assessments.
- Lead product design improvements to enhance fit for assembly and machine integration while lowering cost.
- Design, debug and validate assembly fixtures and assembly processes for new products.
- Design and maintain fixture programming and related process programs.
- Plan assembly fixture procurement and obtain quotation lists from suppliers.
- Prepare and release production documents such as PFMEA, flow charts, PWI, tooling lists and spare-part lists.
- Drive process improvement and quality control using TOPS, DOE, SPC, Lean and Six Sigma tools.
- Conduct fixture GR&R studies and perform CPK & SPC analysis.
- Analyze process defects, implement corrective actions and reduce process scrap.
- Assist AQP and MQA teams in analyzing customer complaints and implementing improvements.
- Execute GLSS projects focused on improving quality and reducing cost.
- Provide training for technicians, assistant engineers and engineers on fixtures, processes and best practices.
- Participate in trainings and actively report L&E misconduct as required.
- Apply experience with ICM products, including auto winding/loading of ICM magnetics/connectors.
- University degree or higher.
- Minimum of 6 years relevant work experience.
- Experience with ICM connectors/products.
- Strong communication, organization, planning and analytical skills.
- Able to handle multiple tasks, prioritize work and meet targeted objectives; self-starter with good teamwork skills.
- Graduate degree in a related Mechanical Engineering field.
- At least 6 years of related experience, including :3 years in connector assembly fixture design and debugging.
- Familiarity with electromechanical devices and ICM auto winding/loading processes.
- Proficiency with CAD and standard office software.
- Good English reading, writing and speaking skills.
- Strong understanding of mechanical theory and drawing interpretation.
