Based in Molex Malaysia (Perai, Penang), this role is responsible for leading and managing all material handling activities across the plant, including the Packing department. You will ensure accurate and timely material flow to support production and on-time shipment, while driving inventory accuracy, optimizing operations, managing workforce and cost, and leading continuous improvement initiatives.

Based in Molex Malaysia (Perai, Penang), this role is responsible for leading and managing all material handling activities across the plant, including the Packing department. You will ensure accurate and timely material flow to support production and on-time shipment, while driving inventory accuracy, optimizing operations, managing workforce and cost, and leading continuous improvement initiatives.
Our Team

You will also collaborate with external partners such as logistics providers, 3PLs, and suppliers to ensure seamless material movement and packaging compliance.
What You Will Do
- Lead and manage all material handling and internal logistics activities across production and support departments, ensuring the right materials are delivered to the right place, at the right time, and in the right quantity.
- Oversee line feeding, kitting, and internal material movement of raw materials, components, WIP, and finished goods, while enforcing material flow standards such as TRTO, FIFO, and traceability to prevent damage, mix-up, and loss.
- Optimize the allocation of material handling manpower and equipment, including forklifts, trolleys, and racking systems, to support production schedules effectively.
- Lead the Packing department to ensure finished goods are packed and prepared in accordance with customer specifications and daily shipping schedules.
- Ensure packing output, quality, and labeling comply with customer and company packaging standards and work instructions.
- Plan and manage packing manpower, materials, and layout to meet on-time delivery while controlling cost and minimizing waste.
- Own and drive inventory accuracy through disciplined ERP transactions and cycle counting practices.
- Ensure timely and accurate recording of goods receipt, issue, and transfer in SAP/ERP systems.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies while maintaining accurate WIP and finished goods records.
- Plan workforce capacity, headcount, and shift schedules for material handling and packing teams in line with production requirements and cost targets.
- Forecast manpower needs and adjust staffing to maintain service levels and productivity.
- Manage attendance, overtime, and manpower deployment across shifts.
- Identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives to optimize material flow, packing operations, and overall cost efficiency.
- Drive lean, 6S, and Kaizen initiatives to reduce waste, travel distance, handling steps, and lead time.
- Evaluate and implement automation, layout redesign, and system enhancements such as line-side supermarkets and pull/Kanban systems.
- Support plant KPIs such as OEE, cost reduction, and operational efficiency through improved material availability and flow.
- Define, track, and report key performance indicators for material handling and packing operations, including inventory accuracy, packing throughput, and on-time shipment performance.
- Use tools such as Excel and Power BI to analyze performance, identify root causes, and present improvement actions.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders to align material supply and packing operations with operational needs.
- Lead, coach, and develop supervisors, team leaders, and operators to build a capable, accountable, and safety-conscious team.
- Ensure compliance with EH&S, 6S, EICC, and company procedures, while protecting company assets and maintaining operational standards.
- Support quality and management systems such as TQM, Six Sigma, ISO, and EH&S requirements.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
- Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Industrial or Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 5–8 years of relevant experience (Degree) or 8+ years (Diploma) in materials, warehouse, logistics, or supply chain within a manufacturing environment, including at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of materials management, inventory control, warehousing, and packing operations.
- Proficiency in SAP/ERP systems and Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel.
- Strong leadership, planning, organizational, and analytical skills, with the ability to manage teams across shifts and drive operational performance.
- Experience in connector or electronics manufacturing environments.
- Hands-on experience with SAP/ERP systems and continuous improvement initiatives such as lean, 6S, or Kaizen.
- Project management experience and exposure to automation or warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Professional certifications such as APICS, CPIM, CSCP, or Lean Six Sigma.
