UCT is looking for a talented Quoting Spec III to join us in Malaysia!

Job Summary:

• Support Quoting & Estimating department by estimating & utilizing customer supplied BOMs & documentation to create competitive material quotes that follow required specifications for customer assemblies. (Primary location: Cebu, Philippines)
  
  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Quoting in collaboration with Sales, Supply Chain Management, and Site Operations.
• Assists with Accounts management and coordinate deliverables.
• With given customer requirement, obtain competitive costs from supply base for the purpose of providing quotes and proposals to our customers and load the price and lead time in SAP.
• Interface with internal & external customers on part cost discussions
• Understand customer multilevel BOMs; different drawing types, fabrication techniques and MAKE/BUY decisions.
• Organize Bills of Material, conduct searches in databases and analyze requirements.
• Kick-Off Call and project management to review the quote data package and understand the scope of the project.
• Create/manage/monitor and report using a database with all costs (Library of costs).
• Work with engineers to update customer BOMs as designs change.
• Conduct cost estimates based on drawings for new parts. (e.g. such as structural frame, sheet metals, machined parts, cable & harness…etc.)
• Escalates manufacturability issues with new products in accordance with NPI project schedules.
• Demonstrates skill in data analysis, techniques by resolving missing/incomplete information, inconsistencies/anomalies in routine research/data, including metrics.
• Must be able to analyze inputs and determine best actions to optimize results for the company and customer.
• Maintains technical accuracy and completeness of quote, utilizing various software applications and business tools.
• Attention to detail, order accuracy, compliance with department standards, and excellent time management skills are required.
• Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision and be capable of suggesting process improvements to ensure internal efficiencies are realized and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
• Perform back-up duties for Quoting Manager when Manager is out of the office.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of using industry tools/software for estimating costs for various items (e.g. structural frame, sheet metal, machine components, cable & harness…etc.)
• Working knowledge of quick-turn, engineer-to-order environment.
• Purchasing/Materials/Material Analyst background preferred.
• Ability to use ERP estimating systems such as SAP, Visual, etc. and Microsoft suite: Excel, Word, and Access.
• Hands-on experience with ISO 9001 and knowledge of problem-solving methodologies
• Expertise on mechanical drawing interpretation using ASME Y14.5 (Dimensioning & Tolerance)
• Hands on experience on sheet metal and machining fabrication preferred.
• Familiarity with CAD solutions such as SolidWorks and EPDM
  
  

Educational/Certification Requirement:

• Bachelor’s degree (preferred in technical discipline) or equivalent experience.
• Certified in estimating or related areas (e.g., ASPE, AACE) is preferred.
  
  

Experience Requirement:

Work Experience:

• 4+ years relevant quoting and/or estimating experience, with significant materials related technical experience in fast-paced manufacturing environment in similar position.
• 4+ years of fabrication experience desired. (e.g. sheet metal, machining, cable & harness)
• Related experience in high-technology manufacturing, preferably in semiconductor fabrication equipment or related industry
