As a R&D/Product DVL Engineer II, you will be responsible for...
- Sustaining activities for the Antenna, RF, COAX cable and connector product lines.
- Executing critical engineering projects, including manufacturing transfers, sustaining, product extensions, cost reduction (VAVE), sustainability and rapid New Product Introduction.
- Representing engineering in customer meetings, project meetings and site visits, providing technical support and insights as needed.
- Executing RF laboratory testing according to standard procedures, making observations and interpreting findings.
- Advising and providing test and measurement services with accuracy and responsibility.
- Ensuring the upkeep of technical documentation, including test procedures, failure reports, validation data, and the preparation, presentation, and execution of test reports based on test results.
- Characterizing antenna performance by conducting electrical tests using a vector network analyzer and an anechoic chamber
- Supervising and training Interns for test and measurement tasks.
- Characterizing and providing advice on densense issues to meet OTA requirements.
- Reviewing datasheets and application notes, updating manufacturing test plans with MPDE, and preparing the necessary documentation for antenna certification.
- Updating network planning files in the system in various formats, including Planet, MSI, ATOLL, and VEX, into the system and provide customers with the updated files.
- Supporting the complete product life cycle (Design updates, Creation of product specifications, Prototyping, Product testing, Product qualification, Project Execution & Sustaining till product end of life)
- RF design simulations using industry-standard RF simulation tools to extract and analyze data in accordance with technical and performance requirements.
- Working closely with PM and other cross functions in getting the right and clear requirements to make engineering evaluation/proposal to update the design.
- Technical support for customers, sales, PM and plant team. Defining & coordinating with test lab for necessary qualification testing, engineering analysis, trouble shooting and verification for sustaining task e.g. integration antenna into customer device or system.
- Applying engineering is the best practice to reduce costs and sustain exiting products to meet customers’ cost targets.
- Executing corrective and preventive measures. This involves applying both immediate and enduring solutions to tackle recognized problems and avert their reoccurrence.
- Collaborating with design engineering teams to influence DFM practices for future products and integrate DFM input into redesigns for improved yield and quality.
What you already have...
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical, electronic and system, or a related RF/Microwave Engineering discipline; advanced degree preferred.
- 5+ years working experience as new product development or sustaining engineering related positions including 3+ years of working experience on product development of Antenna, RF, coaxial cable and connector.
- Experience in RF simulation tools like CSTHFSSADS and Altium Designer will be preferred.
- Strong foundation especially Antenna/RF/Microwave electrical engineering principles with proven application in product development
- This position is highly technical and requires an individual who can work independently.
- Understanding product compliance certification and qualification testing.
- Experience in design for manufacturing and assembly (DFMA), design for cost (DFC), design for manufacturing (DFM)
- Demonstrated problem-solving and root cause analysis.
- Proven expertise in sustaining engineering and product lifecycle support, including design enhancements, prototyping, testing, and cost/productivity improvements (VAVE).
- Understanding of product lifecycle management (PLM) and new product development (NPD) processes.
- Basic understanding of quality tools and methodologies such as FMEA, Six Sigma, DOE, 8D, etc.
