Position Overview
allnex invites you to join the R&D team in Melaka, Malaysia as a R&D Intern today! In this role, you will support the R&D team in resin development and laboratory testing by carrying out experiments, analysing data, and assisting chemists in product development and troubleshooting within a chemical laboratory environment.

Position Overview
allnex invites you to join the R&D team in Melaka, Malaysia as a R&D Intern today! In this role, you will support the R&D team in resin development and laboratory testing by carrying out experiments, analysing data, and assisting chemists in product development and troubleshooting within a chemical laboratory environment.

Responsibilities
- Support R&D resin cooking activities:
- Prepare raw materials, set up equipment, and execute resin cooking processes
- Monitor and control cooking parameters throughout production
- Perform filtration for customer samples and paint applications
- Record and analyse experimental data:
- Provide accurate reduction graphs and cut-off point data for R&D Chemists
- Maintain detailed laboratory reports, including resin analysis, graphs, and charts
- Conduct laboratory analysis:
- Perform resin testing such as compatibility, dilutability, viscosity reduction, and specific gravity
- Assist in evaluating new raw materials and alternative sources
- Support product development and troubleshooting:
- Carry out lab-scale cooking to identify root causes of issues
- Provide observations and suggestions to support problem-solving efforts
- Perform application and instrumental testing:
- Conduct paint application testing
- Assist in operating analytical instruments (e.g., FTIR, GC, GPC, Karl Fischer, NIR)
- Maintain laboratory standards:
- Ensure proper handling and upkeep of glassware, equipment, and instruments
- Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organised laboratory environment
- Available for at least 6 months (1-year internship preferred)
- Strong analytical and technical skills
- Detail-oriented and comfortable working in a laboratory setting
- Good teamwork and communication skills
- Genuine interest in the chemical industry and R&D work
- Currently pursuing a Diploma or Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Applied Science, or a related field
