The Reward Manager is an individual contributor who lead and shape the reward strategy and execution for both Malaysia and Singapore. This role is part of the Reward Asia region with considerable exposure to regional and global initiatives. This position demands a seasoned professional with solid Reward experience capable of ensuring that all local compensation and benefits programs in both countries are not only legally compliant and market competitive but also strategically aligned with the global compensation philosophy and actively contribute to attracting, retaining, and motivating talent across both markets.

Key stakeholders’ interaction:

Regional reward team members in Asia, Global Mobility Team, Reward CoE, local management teams, local payroll, People Services and Solutions Team in Malaysia, Country HRBP, Business Group staff functions.

What we ask

  • A minimum of bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 10+ years of solid experience in Rewards, with experience handling Rewards for Malaysia and Singapore.
  • Strong understanding of local regulations in both Malaysia and Singapore.
  • Capable to independently manage reward-related projects effectively from end to end including planning, execution and communication.
  • Experience in managing international assignments involving multiple countries.
  • Outstanding communication and excellent stakeholder management with proven ability to interact effectively with senior leadership across different culture.
  • Detailed-oriented, analytical, problem-solving with a collaborative mindset and positive attitude.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (advanced Excel skills are essential).

Vacancy description

  • Plan, design, implement and communicate the local compensation & benefits programs, policies, guidelines, and procedures in line with business goals, HR strategies and Global Rewards principles as well as in accordance with local labor laws and regulations.
  • Drive and execute global reward cycle including merit, STIP and LTIP for both countries providing recommendations and ensuring equitable and performance-driven outcomes.
  • Participate in market survey and conduct in-depth market benchmarking to proactively identify trends and insights for both countries to ensure countries’ compensation and benefits program are market competitive.
  • Be the gateway to review all compensation related action throughout the whole employee life cycle within the scope of countries.
  • Responsible for local benefits administration and ensure local benefits is market competitive and compliance with local regulations.
  • Act as a subject matter expert to HR Business Partners and local management team on complex compensation and benefits issues.
  • Lead and manage internal and external audits related to compensation and benefits, ensuring robust controls and compliance.
  • Provide global mobility support and execute the compensation and benefit aspects of the international assignment policy, ensuring alignment with global policies and local regulations and positive experience for assignees.
  • Prepare annual budget for total rewards and manage expenditures related to benefit programs, aligning it with business priorities and ensuring optimal allocation of resources.
  • Provide financial analysis and forecasting of reward-related costs for both countries, identifying opportunities for efficiency and cost optimization.
  • Support union negotiation by providing robust cost impact calculation and advise on the best market practice.
  • Independently lead and manage country-specific reward projects from initial concept to communication and successful implementation. Support and contribute to regional and global reward projects and initiatives.
