Job Summary

We are seeking a highly driven Sr. International Business Development Executive to lead our expansion into regional and international markets, with primary focus on developing business opportunities across Southeast Asia and digital B2B channels.

The role will focus on identifying and building new opportunities through platforms such as Alibaba Group, as well as direct outreach and channel development efforts in markets including Indonesia, Vietnam, Philippines, and other emerging regional markets.

While the primary focus will be international market development, the role may also support selected local market segments when required, working alongside branch-level Business Development teams who will continue handling domestic sales execution and on-ground customer support.

The ideal candidate should be commercially driven, comfortable working independently, and capable of developing strategic market opportunities beyond traditional domestic sales activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • International Market Development
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities in regional and international markets, particularly within Southeast Asia.
  • Build relationships with distributors, dealers, resellers, commercial partners, and enterprise customers outside Malaysia.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential demand, competitor landscape, and entry opportunities within target countries.
  • Develop country-specific business strategies for expansion into priority markets.
  • Digital B2B Channel Development
  • Manage and optimize company presence on digital B2B platforms such as Alibaba.com and other international procurement marketplaces.
  • Respond to inbound international inquiries and convert leads into commercial opportunities.
  • Maintain product listings, quotations, customer engagement, and platform visibility to improve conversion rate.
  • Explore additional digital lead generation channels beyond traditional sales methods.
  • Regional Sales & Partnership Development
  • Establish strategic partnerships with overseas dealers, agents, distributors, and channel partners.
  • Coordinate product demonstrations, commercial proposals, and business negotiations with international prospects.
  • Build long-term partner networks that support regional sales growth.
  • Support export-related commercial discussions and customer onboarding process.
  • Market Intelligence & Commercial Strategy
  • Monitor competitor activities, pricing strategies, and product positioning across regional markets.
  • Identify emerging market trends and recommend new business opportunities for expansion.
  • Work with management to develop go-to-market strategy for international growth initiatives.
  • Provide regular reporting on pipeline development, market opportunities, and conversion performance.
  • Local Market Support (Secondary Responsibility)
  • Support selected local market development initiatives when required.
  • Coordinate with branch Business Development teams for domestic opportunities that require HQ-level involvement.
  • Assist in handling strategic local accounts, enterprise customers, or specialized market segments assigned by management.
  • Support cross-functional commercial projects when regional workload permits.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination
  • Work closely with internal teams including Sales, Marketing, Operations, Product Management, and Customer Support.
  • Coordinate product availability, pricing, documentation, and customer requirements for international opportunities.
  • Ensure smooth handover process between sales development and operational execution teams.

Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Agriculture, International Business, or related fields.

Experience

  • Minimum 4-5 years’ experience in Business Development, Sales, International Sales, Export Sales, or Commercial roles.
  • Experience handling regional or international customers is an advantage.
  • Experience with B2B digital marketplaces (especially Alibaba.com) is highly preferred.

Skills

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Comfortable engaging with international customers and partners.
  • Ability to conduct market research and develop market entry strategies.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and sales pipeline management.
  • Strong commercial awareness and customer relationship management.
  • Self-driven with ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Good written and spoken English required.

Additional Advantages

  • Knowledge in agriculture technology, drones, industrial technology, or related sectors is a plus.
  • Additional language capability (Mandarin, Bahasa Indonesia, Vietnamese, or others) is an advantage.
