Senior Logistics Traf Specialist

Purpose Statement:
This role is responsible for ensuring compliant and efficient logistics operations for Boston Scientific medical devices, covering inbound receipt, warehousing, inventory control, shipping, customs/trade compliance, and physical distribution, in alignment with regulatory requirements, quality systems, and Boston Scientific policies.
Job Responsibilities:

Supervise and oversee end-to-end logistics operations including receiving, warehousing, inventory control, cycle counting, issuance, warehouse cleanroom, shipping, and physical distribution (ship direct).

Ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g. FDA, ISO 13485, GDP) with Boston Scientific Quality System.

Maintain accurate inventory records in ERP systems, ensuring traceability and reconciliation through regular cycle counts and audits.

Ensure proper storage, handling, labeling, and segregation of raw material and finished goods in accordance with quality and safety requirements.

Support internal and external audits, inspections and regulatory reviews by preparing documentation and addressing observations in a timely manner.

Investigate and resolve logistics-related issues, deviations, non-conformances, and complaints in collaboration with Quality and other cross-functional teams.

Supervise in develop, review and maintain entire warehouse related work instructions and records to ensure compliance and standardization.

Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders including Quality, Production Unit, Engineering, Regulatory, Finance, and Supply Chain teams.

Ensure compliance with EHS, security and company policies within warehouse and logistics operations.

Provide guidance, training and mentoring to junior logistics or warehouse personnel, as applicable.

Consistently look for continue improvement for the accuracy and productivity of the process.
Job Requirement:
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Trade, Business Administration, or a related discipline.

Minimum 5–10 years of experience in Customs Compliance, Trade Compliance, and Import/Export Operations.
-
Strong hands-on experience with Licensed Manufacturing Warehouse (LMW) operations and customs compliance in Malaysia, preferably within a manufacturing environment.

Proven experience in customs permit applications, import/export declarations, duty exemption management, customs audits, and regulatory reporting.

Strong knowledge of Malaysian Customs regulations, import/export controls, and trade compliance requirements.

Experience working with regulatory authorities and government agencies, including:

Royal Malaysian Customs Department (RMCD)

Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI)

Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA)

SIRIM Berhad
-
Department of Environment (DOE)

Sound understanding of permit conditions, licensing requirements, import/export restrictions, and regulatory compliance obligations.

Proficient in customs declaration platforms such as uCustoms, Dagang Net, or equivalent systems.

Solid knowledge of tariff classification, customs valuation, Rules of Origin, and Free Trade Agreements (FTAs).

Experience managing import/export documentation, customs declarations, permit applications, and LMW inventory controls.

Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or equivalent) and supply chain management processes.

Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy in managing customs documentation and compliance requirements.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify risks and implement effective solutions.

Strong communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills.

Effective time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet critical compliance deadlines.

Ability to manage multiple permits, customs declarations, and regulatory submissions concurrently.

Strong risk assessment, issue resolution, and escalation management capabilities.
