Our ingenuity fuels daily life. Together, we’ve forged some of the most trusted partnerships across the energy value chain to make what was once just an idea a reality: laying subsea infrastructure thousands of feet below sea level, installing platforms hundreds of miles from shore, using our expertise to design and build offshore wind infrastructure, and reshaping the onshore landscape to deliver the energy products the world needs safely and sustainably.

For more than 100 years, we've been making the impossible possible. Today, we're driving the energy transition with more than 30,000 of the brightest minds across 54 countries

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Continuously develop and expand expertise in welding and materials through professional memberships and technical courses
  • Provide budget estimates and firm offers for tenders, projects, and internal clients related to welding activities and equipment
  • Review technical specifications for tender and contract evaluations, assessing cost, quality, and production cycle impact
  • Develop welding cycles for pipeline installation rate estimates for tender budgeting and project planning
  • Request and assess quotations for welding equipment and personnel, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness
  • Leverage industry experience to enhance customer service and operational efficiency
  • Manage all aspects of welding procedure qualifications, including test schedules, costs, and materials
  • Organize and oversee welding crew training and qualification programs, ensuring compliance with industry standards
  • Facilitate and lead project kickoff meetings at on-site locations when necessary
  • Provide technical guidance and support to various departments regarding welding equipment and processes
  • Coordinate third-party operations (ECA, NDT, etc.) as required
  • Maintain and monitor the documentation and execution of welding activities, ensuring compliance with project requirements
  • Analyze project execution performance, including productivity and quality assessments
  • Ensure proper filing, archiving, and document control within the department
  • Enforce safety measures by halting operations in case of unsafe practices and reporting workplace hazards or incidents
  • Provide instruction and oversight to personnel and subcontractors in accordance with project plans

Essential Qualifications and Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Welding/Materials Engineering or equivalent experience
  • European/International Welding Engineer (EWE/IWE) certification or comparable expertise
  • Strong knowledge of welding processes (STT, CMT) and mechanized welding systems
  • Strong practical knowledge and familiarity of Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) systems relevant to marine and welding operations
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in offshore pipeline welding
  • Extensive experience as a Welding Engineer across multiple work sites (offshore and onshore)
  • Proven expertise in project planning and execution within the oil and gas welding industry
  • Strong background in welding inspection and compliance
  • Comprehensive knowledge of mechanized welding, welding procedure qualifications, and troubleshooting common welding challenges
  • Exceptional communication skills, enabling effective discussions on complex technical matters during tender and project execution
