Senior Writer

We are looking for a Senior Writer with a sharp voice, strong reporting instincts, and real curiosity about how men live, dress, work and spend. You will write across print and digital, from cover stories and long-form profiles. You will also help set the editorial agenda and raise the standard of the team’s writing.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Write cover stories, features, profiles and interviews for the monthly print edition.
• Produce a steady flow of digital stories, including news, trend pieces, reviews, guides and explainers, written for search and social as well as for readers.
• Interview Malaysian and regional personalities, founders, designers, chefs, athletes, international brand leaders, etc.
• Cover key beats in the title.
• Understand the social and digital space, and create stories and content pieces that live across print, digital, and social.

REQUIREMENTS

• Degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, English, Creative Writing or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Experience working in luxury media is a bonus.
• Excellent written and spoken English, with a confident, polished and witty voice.
• A portfolio showing both long-form features and digital-first content.
• Working knowledge of CMS platforms (e.g. WordPress), SEO and web analytics such as Google Analytics.
• Well organized, able to handle several stories and deadlines at once without losing quality.
• Willing to attend events outside office hours and to travel for assignments.
