What will you do?

The main missions of the Field Service Engineer/Representative - Software and UPS (Contract) are:

• Hybrid role between Software solutions and UPS. Mainly focus on software system powered by EcoStruxure under Data Center Environment.
• Works independently to determine methods and procedures on assignments.
• Provides onsite filed repair, installation, and maintenance services for Software system and assisting day to day routine for UPS support.
• Maintenance / Repair: The candidate will be expected to complete planned and unscheduled maintenance on the Schneider Electric product range.
• Maintain accurate service records, ensuring all work complies with safety regulations and manufacturer guidelines. Provide clients with clear reports on system status and recommended actions.
• Build and maintain client relationships by providing expert advice on system integration between UPS, Cooling devices, Digital Power meters, and other related equipment to ensure uptime for monitoring aspect.
• Ensure all service work adheres to safety standards, regulations, and best practices, creating a safe work environment at all times.
• Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns, prioritize repairs, and restore systems swiftly to minimize disruptions to critical data center operations.
• 24x7 on Call: The candidate will need to be prepared to attend customer sites at short notice to perform diagnosis and repairs.
• Ensures complex installation, maintenance and repair on customer installed base.
• Identifies new opportunities while attending customer sites to promote Services growth.
• Advise customers on best practice, new services, and upgrade opportunities
• Performs Startup/ Commissioning on equipment across the Schneider Electric product portfolio.
• Track Installed Base.
• Submit Opportunity Detected during his/her interventions.
  
  

Activities & Areas of Responsibility

• Support serviceable Schneider equipment and system including but not limited to: Communication Gateway, Servers, Networking, Monitoring System with extended knowledge on Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) or Electrical Distribution for Buildings and Data Centres.
• Properly document, label, and return all defective parts utilized in the repair of equipment to the designated disposal/repair location.
• Develop innovative solutions to more complex technical problems that arise during start-up.
• Research, evaluate, and recommend new products or equipment upgrades that will meet customer needs.
• Assist Schneider Electric Service Partners in site visits, evaluating technical and professional performance.
• When at customer site, look for other business opportunities outside current scope of work and lead them to the sales team
• As an escalation point to other level of technical support within the company when required.
• Capable of investigate remotely the origin of the breakdown and submit fixes (in a service bureau for example).
  
  

What are the key skills we are looking for?

• Electrical, Electronic, or Communication Engineering Degree with at least 2 years in services onsite environment.
• Power distribution system, communication knowledge including device networking, testing & commissioning experience is required.
• Strong experience and understand electrical distribution system in buildings and Data Centres.
• Familiar with protocol such as SNMP, Modbus, ION Network, and BacNet is an added advantage.
• Experienced with Uninterruptible Power Supply System and Power Distribution Units, understands the importance of power capacity and distribution.
• Strong communication & writing skills
• Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage time effectively.
• Able to work 90% time onsite.
