Social Media Content Intern (MGAG)

About the Role

We are looking for a creative and social-media-savvy intern to support MGAG’s content production, from ideation and concept development to video shooting and editing. The ideal candidate is familiar with Malaysian internet culture, social media trends, and relatable content that entertains and engages audiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Content Ideation: Brainstorm content ideas, research trends, and develop concepts, hooks, and scripts for social media videos.
• Video Shooting: Assist with video shoots and capture short-form content using an iPhone or other available equipment.
• Video Editing: Edit videos for TikTok, Instagram Reels, Facebook, and other social platforms, including subtitles, transitions, sound effects, and music.
• Trend Research: Stay updated on viral trends, memes, Malaysian pop culture, and relevant online conversations.
• Production Support: Assist with shoot planning, organising footage and creative assets, and other content-related tasks.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a diploma or degree in Mass Communication, Media, Multimedia, Broadcasting, or a related field.
• Passionate about social media, digital content creation, and internet culture.
• Creative, with a good sense of humour and storytelling.
• Basic video shooting and editing skills.
• Able to work collaboratively, take feedback, and meet deadlines.
• Proactive, willing to learn, and comfortable participating in video shoots.
• A portfolio of personal, academic, or professional creative projects.

Bonus Skills

• Experience shooting videos using an iPhone or smartphone.
• Familiarity with video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro or CapCut.
• Familiarity with design tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, Capcut or Canva.
