Role Responsibilities

• Service Planning - Plan and schedule preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, breakdowns and service activities for Sabah customers.
• Job Coordination - Coordinate technicians, subcontractors, spare parts, tools and equipment required for each service job.
• Technical Support - Provide technical support and troubleshooting for Carrier HVAC equipment, particularly chillers, AHUs, FCUs and related systems.
• Field Service - Conduct site inspections, troubleshooting, testing, commissioning and technical assessment when required.
• Preventive Maintenance - Ensure planned maintenance activities are completed according to contract requirements and agreed schedules.
• Breakdown Management - Coordinate urgent breakdown response and ensure timely deployment of the appropriate technical resources.
• Customer Management - Act as the key technical/service contact for assigned customers and provide regular updates on job progress and issues.
• Service Reporting - Ensure service reports, inspection reports, quotations, recommendations and job closure documentation are completed accurately and promptly.
• Spare Parts Coordination - Identify required spare parts and coordinate with Parts/Service teams to ensure availability before site work.
• Subcontractor Management - Coordinate and monitor subcontractors to ensure work quality, safety, productivity and compliance with Carrier requirements.
• Service Contract Support - Support the Service Sales team with technical information, equipment assessments, service scope and recommendations for contract renewal or additional work.
• Equipment Assessment - Conduct health checks and condition assessments of installed equipment and identify repair, retrofit, replacement and modernization opportunities.
• Safety & Compliance - Ensure all service activities comply with Carrier's HSE requirements, customer site rules and applicable Malaysian regulations.
• Performance Monitoring - Monitor service response time, job completion, technician utilization, backlog and customer satisfaction.
• Knowledge & Team Support - Provide technical guidance to technicians and share troubleshooting knowledge and best practices.
  
  

Role Purpose

To provide effective technical service support and planning for Carrier's HVAC installed base in Sabah, ensuring timely and efficient execution of preventive and corrective maintenance, breakdown response and customer service activities. The role will coordinate technicians, resources, spare parts and subcontractors while providing technical expertise to resolve equipment issues, improve service reliability and support customer satisfaction and service business growth.

Minimum Requirements

Education

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, HVAC/Refrigeration Engineering or related discipline.
• Technical certification in HVAC/Refrigeration will be an advantage.
  
  

Experience

• Minimum 5 years' experience in HVAC, refrigeration, building services or related engineering field.
• Experience in chiller servicing and troubleshooting is strongly preferred.
• Experience in service planning, scheduling or coordination is an advantage.
• Experience working with Carrier, Trane, York, Daikin, Johnson Controls or other major HVAC systems will be advantageous.
  
  

Technical Competency

• Good knowledge of: Chillers AHUs and FCUs Pumps and cooling towers HVAC controls/BMS Refrigeration systems VFDs and electrical controls
• Ability to perform troubleshooting, equipment inspection and technical assessment.
• Ability to interpret electrical diagrams, control schematics and HVAC drawings.
• Good understanding of preventive and corrective maintenance practices.
  
  

Planning & Coordination

• Strong ability to plan and prioritize multiple service jobs.
• Able to coordinate technicians, subcontractors, spare parts and tools.
• Good understanding of service response time and job scheduling.
• Able to work under pressure during critical breakdown situations.
  
  

Customer & Commercial Skills

• Good customer communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Able to prepare technical reports and service recommendations.
• Commercial awareness to identify repair, replacement, retrofit and modernization opportunities.
• Willing to support Service Sales in developing quotations and technical proposals.
  
  

Other Requirements

• Willing to travel extensively within Sabah, including remote customer sites when required.
• Possess a valid driving licence.
• Able to work outside normal hours during emergency breakdowns when necessary.
• Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia; knowledge of Mandarin/Cantonese or local Sabah languages would be an advantage.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and preferably familiar with CRM/service management systems.
