Tax Manager, Malaysia

Purpose of role

This role will be responsible for managing all tax matters in Malaysia, reporting into Senior Tax Manager based in Singapore.

Responsibilities

• Manage compliance filings for all taxes (corporate tax returns, Pillar 2 filings, VAT returns, transfer pricing reports) and ensure they are filed accurately and on time
• Review tax filing and submission prepared by external advisors
• Manage MIDA incentive to ensure company is compliant and maximises incentive benefits
• Manage tax audits and lead discussions with tax authorities relating to disputes
• Support business initiatives by identifying potential tax risks/ issues and providing practical solutions
• Proactively work with internal stakeholders and external advisors
• Conduct health check on tax return and tax filing process to improve accuracy of returns and efficiency/ effectiveness of processes
• Monitor and update impact of tax legislation changes to the business
  
  
  

Skills

• Minimally 7 years tax related working experience in Big 4 and/or in-house
• Key to have experience and in-depth knowledge on MIDA and other incentive granting agencies and policies
• Experience in dealing with tax officers
• Must be able to work with challenging deadlines and prioritise work efficiently
• Excellent analytical ability with great attention to detail
• Not afraid to drive improvement and change
• Team player with positive, ‘can-do’ attitude, flexible and able to embrace ambiguity in fast paced environment
