We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles, financial reporting, and analysis. The role involves managing financial transactions, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with Malaysia regulations.
Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with MPERs & IFRS.
- Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management review.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
General Ledger Management:
- Maintain the general ledger and oversee the reconciliation of accounts.
- Monitor and analyze accounts to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to obtain necessary financial information.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Assist in the development of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
- Track budget performance and provide variance analysis.
- Make recommendations for cost control and process improvement.
Compliance and Regulatory Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards and regulations.
- Prepare and submit necessary tax filings in a timely manner.
- Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits.
Cash Flow Management:
- Monitor and manage cash flow to optimize liquidity.
- Forecast cash needs and coordinate with treasury functions.
Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency enhancements.
- Implement best practices to streamline accounting procedures.
Team Collaboration:
- Collaborate with colleagues in finance, billing and store departments to achieve organizational goals.
- Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA/ACCA/MIA certification is a plus.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, with a proven track record of success.
- Strong knowledge of MPERs and related financial reporting requirements.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage UBS).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
