A Snapshot of Your Day
As an ATC Manager, you will be leading a group of team members who provide various tax support to Siemens Energy (SE) 's tax heads located in different jurisdictions (principally within APAC and Europe). Tax support will cover all topics, including compliance, advisory and audit support. Solutions will be tailored based on the country requirements. It is encouraged that the demand for ATC support will increase exponentially in the coming years. Our global strategy is to build tax hub support whilst limiting the increase of headcount in the respective Country tax functions. The ATC team will grow rapidly and the structure of the team will be adapted to build and develop core proficiencies within the team, focusing on areas such as Project Advisory; Compliance; and Transfer Pricing. ATC Manager role will have a key focus on people management focusing on growth and development of our in-house resources. This role will have regular interaction with Head of ATC, and global/country tax heads.
In addition, you are also the Country Tax Head for Malaysia and Singapore, who will be responsible for all direct and indirect tax compliance and reporting matters concerning SE companies located in Malaysia and Singapore. You will be the first point of contact for business units / functional departments in Malaysia and Singapore, and act as liaison with external tax consultants and tax authorities.

How You’ll Make An Impact
ATC Manager, Kuala Lumpur
- Lead and develop a team of tax professionals
- Lead all aspects of the establishment of a tiered tax team structure which will evolve into the creation of core tax proficiencies within the tax team
- Develop team rotations with the objective of individual team growth and development, as well as creating backups to maintain continuity for our recipient stakeholders
- Handle task allocations and maintain flexibility to consider new supporting tasks and opportunities
- Support Head of ATC in liaising with internal customers (SE global tax community) to identify the type of tax support required, perform resource planning and work portfolio allocation among the team members
- Provide input on costing calculation and coordinate on the intercompany service agreement.
- Corporate Tax Reporting and Compliance for SE Companies in Malaysia and Singapore
- Review and approve all statutory direct and indirect tax compliance work prepared by the reporting team members or external tax consultant:
- Corporate income tax return and estimate of tax payable
- Service tax return
- Withholding tax forms submission
- Transfer pricing documentation
- Corporate income tax return and estimate chargeable income
- GST returns for Singapore
- Withholding tax forms submission
- Transfer pricing documentation
- Withholding tax forms submission for Brunei
- Annual Indian corporate income tax return and 3CEB form (related party transaction report) submission in India.
- Annual stamp duty filing in China (for contracts signed by China entities)
- Review and approve all internal tax reporting work prepared by the reporting team members:
- Review and approve forecast tax reporting (period 2, period 3, period 6 and period 8 only) and annual budget tax reporting, including forecast/budget tax cashflow
- Review and approve Q3 and Q4 detailed tax reporting (corporate income tax and deferred tax provision computation) based on IFRS
- Review and approve year end corporate income tax and deferred tax computation prepared based on local GAAP for inclusion in audited financial statement
- Complete internal tax reporting requested by regional or headquarter tax management
- Review of tax process to ensure accurate tax reporting based on the latest tax law requirements.
- Drive and implement tax projects as and when necessary (e.g. introduction of new tax or amendment to tax laws by the local government)
- Handle all direct and indirect tax advisory including cross border project tax advisory (e.g. review of tax clause, identify tax cost impact, etc)
- Attend to any request from the tax authorities and leading tax audit (if any) as well as engage and handle external tax consultants
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance/Tax Law or professional qualification with established professional accounting bodies.
- A minimum 10 years of experience in tax related work (with at least 8 years’ experience in managerial role), preferably with experience in both tax compliance and tax advisory with strong technical knowledge of Malaysian tax laws and a good knowledge Singapore tax laws.
- Ability to understand complex business transactions and proven track record to handle tax audit, and manage cross-functional projects
- Experience in managing people, and leading a team through implementing change
- Excellent analytical, communication, stakeholder management and leadership skills
- Able to identify potential tax risks and suggest possible solutions or mitigating factors.
