Assistant Financial Controller

Role Overview: As an Assistant Financial Controller, you will play a crucial role in the month-end GL (general ledger) close and reporting of entity results. You will be responsible for preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, and executing internal controls in accordance with the Haleon Internal Control Framework. You will collaborate with stakeholders and other functions (e.g., P2P, O2C, Stat & Tax) to ensure a successful month-end close and provide guidance and on-the-job training to analyst team members.

Key Responsibilities:

• Reporting financial results for market and business units with commentary, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
• Controlling transaction activity in line with global processes and best practice financial controls.
• Consolidating, analyzing, and interpreting market results.
• Owning market balance sheets, including approval of reconciliations.
• Performing variance analysis and ensuring compliance with Finance Hub policies and local legal requirements.
• Resolving general accounting and reporting issues and supporting month-end close activities.
• Providing Record to Report support and ensuring delivery quality.
• Collaborating with stakeholders and other functions to ensure successful month-end close.
• Providing guidance and training to team members and supporting knowledge transfer.
  
  
  

Qualifications:

• Degree in Finance/Accounting.
• 5-10 years of experience in general ledger and financial reporting, including financial accounting, reporting, statutory filing, master data maintenance, treasury, asset accounting, and inter-company transactions.
• Experience in commercial and shared service centers or a mix of financial accounting and auditing.
• SAP experience is preferred.
• Fluency in English and Mandarin/Cantonese (both written and spoken) is mandatory.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to plan and manage workload to meet key deadlines.
