Job Responsibility
- Forecasts goals and objectives for the department and strives to meet them.
- Hires, trains, motivates, counsels and monitors the performance of all service department staff.
- Implement and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for efficiency and quality assurance.
- Develop and implement effective marketing and sales strategies to promote service department business and increase revenue.
- Communicate with customers to understand their vehicle service needs and maintain good relationship with them.
- Maintains high-quality service repairs and minimizes comebacks. Conducts periodic spot checks of completed jobs for thoroughness and quality.
- Monitor workshop expenses and ensure cost control measures.
- Manage inventory levels, order spare parts, and negotiate with vendors
- Ensure all work meets industry standards and manufacturer specifications.
- Adhere to government regulations, safety protocols, and environmental policies.
- Diploma/Degree in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 3â5 years of experience in an automotive workshop, with at least 2 years in a supervisory/managerial role.
- Strong technical knowledge of vehicle diagnostics, repair, and maintenance.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to manage budgets, inventory, and operational costs.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
