Secondary Business & Accounting Teacher
Purpose of Role
To deliver high-quality teaching and learning in Business Studies and Accounting in line with the Cambridge IGCSE syllabus, enabling students to achieve academic excellence while developing critical thinking, analytical, and real-world business skills.

Secondary Business & Accounting Teacher
Teaching & Learning
Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons for Cambridge IGCSE Business Studies and Accounting to students.
Ensure lesson plans align with Cambridge assessment objectives and learning outcomes.
Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
Integrate real-world business and financial examples to enhance student understanding.
Prepare students effectively for internal assessments, mock examinations, and Cambridge IGCSE examinations.
Assessment & Reporting
Design, administer, and mark assessments in accordance with Cambridge standards.
Provide timely, constructive feedback to students to support academic progress.
Maintain accurate records of student performance and progress.
Prepare termly reports and participate in parent-teacher conferences.
Curriculum & Professional Practice
Contribute to curriculum development, scheme of work planning, and resource creation.
Stay updated with Cambridge syllabus changes and examination requirements.
Participate in professional development activities, training, and workshops.
Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and improve teaching quality.
Student Support & Pastoral Care
Act as a form tutor if required, supporting students’ academic and personal development.
Promote positive behaviour, safeguarding, and student well-being in line with school policies.
Encourage students to develop independent learning, ethical awareness, and global perspectives.
Co-curricular & School Contribution
Support school events, enrichment programmes, and extracurricular activities where appropriate.
Contribute positively to the wider school community and uphold the school’s values.
Line management
The Teacher will report to the Head of Secondary/Campus Principal.
Qualifications and Experience
Education: Relevant teaching qualifications (PGCE OR Bachelor Education) or equivalent international teaching qualification/Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience and Skills:
Have up-to-date knowledge on the Cambridge International curriculum
Can deliver a balanced, broad and differentiated curriculum for their learners;
Can deliver well-planned, rigorous and interesting learning experiences for their students;
Have high expectations of learners with appropriate inspiration and challenge;
Encourage and contribute to a well-organised and inspiring learning environment;
Experience of integrating technology into learning and teaching;
Have a growth mindset to all aspects of school life;
Passionate and willing to go above and beyond for the school community.
