This role is pivotal in leading and managing the QBE Malaysia business, driving profitable growth, overseeing the P&L. The CEO will report into CEO, South Asia and in collaboration with peers. The role will drive our growth strategy in Malaysia markets, critically ensuring the portfolios are sustainable in the long term consistent with local regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:


  • Contribute Malaysia business strategy and plan, seeking synergies with other markets to ensure delivery of objectives.
  • Develop the business portfolio in line with strategic and financial plans, focusing on retention and acquisition of desired business.
  • Formulate and monitor the annual business plan, ensuring alignment with wider strategy and financial goals.
  • Identify, recommend, and implement new profitable initiatives to enhance business performance.
  • Translate strategy into operational deliverables, providing leadership and support to managers for effective planning and control.
  • Manage compliance with policies and procedures framework to ensure best practices and legal standards are met.
  • Build strong relationships with key external stakeholders to enhance cooperation and promote the company's reputation.
  • Lead and manage implementation of business change initiatives, ensuring alignment with wider strategy.
  • Deliver efficient, accurate, and timely management information to support decision-making and identify areas for improvement.
  • Provide leadership by fostering a culture of employee engagement, encouraging QBE values, and ensuring high levels of personal and professional competence



Work Experience:


  • Demonstrated at least 5 years in leadership experience at the Exec level in insurance business.
  • Experience of successfully developing and delivering business strategy.
  • Experience of developing Malaysia business.
  • Underwriting experience preferred.
  • Record of delivering sustained, profitable business growth.
