Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to implement the defined channel sales strategy for Motor & Drives/PLC products in specified market scope (global/regional) in an effective manner to improve ABB’s market penetration and achieve its growth aspirations in the assigned channel. Each day, you will execute channel sales strategies and initiatives within the assigned market, to achieve both qualitative and quantitative targets for the assigned channel, in a profitable way with a focus on orders, revenues, growth, margin, market share, sales productivity, and customer satisfaction. You will also showcase your expertise by acting as a critical contributor to the sales customer base growth for the assigned channel. The work model for the role is: #LI-onsite, #LI-hybrid This role is contributing to the Motion Drive Product Business, based in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. You will be mainly accountable for: • Selling products to customers, focusing on volume, mix and profitability targets for assigned Business Units/Product Groups. • Establishing and maintaining effective customer relationships to understand customer needs, promote customer understanding of full product/systems/ services offering, and align to provide a solution. Ensuring a positive customer experience throughout the sales process. • Preparing sales plans using company tools. Performing regular status reviews and proposes recovery plan(s) in cases of potential order shortfalls. • Creating added value for customer and ABB ensures the successful outcome of transactions, and proposals by using effective sales techniques. • Ensuring efficient marketing activities and value proposition to customers. • Identifying and drives the development of new market opportunities in the designated market and ensures know-how sharing and cross-collaboration. • Managing administrative procedures in sales processes, and support collection and project management activities when needed. • Preparing offers in coordination with the bid and proposal. Ensuring appropriate technical and financial aspects of offers, including prices and trading conditions.
Qualifications for the role
- A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical & Electronic, or equivalent) is required.
- Preferably, candidates should have over 2 years of experience in similar businesses.
- Direct experience with PLC products and applications or related marketing work is preferred.
- Candidates must be self-starters and proactive, capable of working independently and as part of a team.
- A collaborative, solution-focused approach and strong written and spoken communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia are essential (additional languages are a plus).
- Possess own transport and be willing to travel.
- Being a team player who can carry out tasks with minimal supervision is important. Proactive, result-oriented, and able to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.
