The objective of a global admissions team is in line with Curtin’s global strategy in pursuit of a cohesive approach.

Your new role
The Compliance Officer will be required to assist the International Compliance Manager with Genuine Student (GS) screening for Global Curtin, balancing the timely processing of GS assessments with supporting the Global Recruitment Team's conversion activities.

The role will be required to perform application screening for Global Curtin and all other compliance-related tasks as directed by the International Compliance Manager. The expectation of the role includes the following:

  • Detailed and quality assessment of genuine students.
  • Quick turnaround time in assessing and processing applications.
  • Meeting the key performance indicators as required.
  • Maintaining good communication with the organization.

Your key responsibilities

  • Acts as a point of contact for Genuine student checks for Curtin.
  • Conduct financial checks for all applications/offers. Conduct screening checks and interviews for all applications from all agents to ensure that only quality applications are processed.
  • Conduct student interviews as part of the genuine student assessments (where applicable only).
  • Conduct follow-up calls to students and agents, where applicable.
  • Update the status for each student from the application, and submission, up to visa approval/refusal.
  • Produce reports as and when required for the International Compliance Manager in terms of GTE, compliance, and visa policy updates, as well as provide suggestions to improve GTE assessment.
  • Collecting market intelligence to enhance the Global Curtin GS assessment knowledge base.


About you

Qualification

  • Completion of a relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training qualification.

Knowledge, Experience and Skills

  • Demonstrate a high level of customer service orientation.
  • Demonstrated experience working effectively within a team and independently, with the ability to provide guidance to others.
  • Demonstrated cross-cultural awareness and interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with others sensitively and constructively.
  • Demonstrated effective communication skills, both written and verbal, and a proven ability to present documents in an accurate, clear and concise manner.
  • Proven effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated computer skills, especially with the Microsoft suite of applications and database applications, in particular the creation of Excel formulas and spreadsheets.
  • Demonstrated commitment to applying relevant and applicable policies, procedures and legislation in the day-to-day performance of the functions of this position.
  • Demonstrated conversational fluency in language/s other than English.

Desirable Skills

  • Previous experience in compliance within the higher education sector.
  • Previous experience in visa assessment.
  • Previous experience in financial assessment or banking.
