Job Summary

The successful candidate will join the Kuala Lumpur Legal Support Center (LSC) and, under the supervision of a Team Manager, will assist with the management of contractual relationships with suppliers or customers in the Asia, Oceania, and Middle East regions. The successful candidate will have a scope of work within the supplier contracts (SC) or customer contracts (CC) pillar of the LSC.

Essential Responsibilities & Duties

The scope of work for this position covers maintaining and managing contracts with customers or suppliers in countries in which SLB operates, and working with internal functions (sales, marketing, planning, supply chain, legal, tax, and finance) to ensure creation, drafting, review, approval, and maintenance of our supplier and customer contracts satisfy applicable SLB and legal procedures and policies. Duties would include overseeing proper usage of contracts management platforms, and providing support to ensure appropriate contractual coverage by working with sales or procurement teams in one or more countries. This may include some or all of the following:

  • Communicate with sales, business line, supply chain, procurement, planning, and legal teams to ensure supplier contracts are appropriately reviewed, approved, and signed in accordance with SLB policies and procedures;
  • Rate contractual coverage according to defined contractual coverage policies and playbooks;
  • Generate contract reports and summaries, and participate in post-award contract management, including drafting of amendments and managing contract expiry or cancellation;
  • Review, draft, and negotiate non-disclosure agreements, term sheets, terms and conditions, and supply agreements, from contract request to signature, on a timely basis, including obtaining contract approvals and managing contract-related records in SLB contracts databases; and
  • Support training programs for SLB employees, particularly with respect to trainings directed to sales and procurement personnel.

Experience And Key Competencies

  • Completion of a degree in business administration, commerce, communication, economics, language (e.g., English), logistics, management, sales, strategy, or supply chain operations.
    • May also consider students or graduates with other relevant degrees, or who have prior experience in the energy industry or as a contracts analyst.
  • Written and spoken fluency in English is required.
  • An academic/professional level of Arabic, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, Russian, Thai, or Vietnamese would be favourably considered.
  • Sense of customer service, responsiveness, and professionalism.
  • Continuous improvement mindset, and the ability to adapt and continually build on prior learnings and competencies.
  • Ability to proactively organise a heavy workload and demonstrate excellent analytical and organisational abilities.
  • Good interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and a practical approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and support effective partnerships with management, peers, and internal stakeholders across a variety of functions and disciplines.
  • Cultural sensitivity, ability to compromise and demonstrate diplomacy, ability to listen and adapt, and ability to work within a team.
  • Competency in Microsoft Office packages, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint applications.
