Converting Technician

We are searching for an experienced Converting Technician at our Malaysia facility.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Position Summary

Sets up and operates converting packaging equipment to assemble packaging products for disposable medical device packaging markets by performing the following duties.

Primary Responsibilities / Essential Functions

• Set up and operate converting equipment by following established work procedures and instructions.
• Read and understand converting customer specifications.
• Mount plate, dies and secure assemblies in bed of machine.
• Install and align all relevant auxiliary equipment (punches, secondary dies, edge guides, eye block readers).
• Clean dies and return to storage area.
• Check the sample of finish product from the end of the machine and inspect for imperfections.
• Perform required specification checks per relevant documentation.
• Meet and/ or exceed productivity and quality requirements.
• Complete daily and weekly production and labor reporting paperwork.
• Perform all necessary 5S and housekeeping duties, as defined by the team leader, to maintain safe and organized work area.
• Deliver presentations to individuals or groups on medical packaging products or the converting making process.
• Conducts/ participates in 5S and safety audits, implements corrective actions and inspects product.

Education

• Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET)/ Malaysia Skills Certificate (SKM) or Diploma in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering, Printing Technology or closely related field, or
• Secondary school graduated with more than 2 years of working experience in Flexo Printing, Slitting, Pouching, Die Cutting Operating.

Experience

• Basic mathematical aptitude, reading measuring rules, and effective communication skills.

Other Requirements:

• Ability to read, analyze and interpret data/ documents/ safety rules or manuals/operating instructions or procedures/ maintenance, etc.
• Ability to write in a clear and concise manner, etc.
• Ability to speak effectively, present information, respond to questions in a clear and concise manner, etc.
