Position Overview

The Design Engineer is responsible for creating and optimizing designs for products, components, and systems. This includes drafting technical drawings, performing design calculations, and working with cross-functional teams to meet project requirements. The ideal candidate should have strong analytical skills, CAD proficiency, and a background in mechanical or product design.

Key Responsibilities

• Product and Component Design:
  • Create detailed designs, models, and drawings for products and components using CAD software.
  • Conduct design calculations to ensure structural integrity, performance, and safety.
  • Work with R&D and production teams to ensure designs are feasible and meet project specifications.
• Design Optimization and Improvement:
  • Review and improve existing designs to enhance performance, reduce costs, and improve manufacturability.
  • Identify potential design issues and recommend modifications to improve quality and efficiency.
• Documentation and Technical Drawings:
  • Generate accurate technical drawings, including assembly instructions, part specifications, and material lists.
  • Ensure all drawings comply with industry standards and company guidelines.
• Collaboration and Project Support:
  • Work closely with project managers, production engineers, and quality control teams to ensure designs meet production and quality standards.
  • Participate in design reviews and contribute to project discussions to drive design improvements.
• Testing and Validation:
  • Assist in developing prototypes and testing designs to validate performance and functionality.
  • Analyze test results and make necessary adjustments to designs based on feedback.

Key Requirements

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a related field.

Experience:

• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in design engineering or product design, preferably in Intelligent Manufacturing.

Skills and Competencies:

• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or CATIA).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
• Knowledge of engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Language Requirements:

• Fluency in both English and Mandarin, with the ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels.

Other Requirements:

• Familiarity with industry standards and regulations is an advantage.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for project requirements, if necessary.
