Developer - AML / Compliance Technology

Our Client a leading bank in Asia with a global network of more than 500 branches and offices in 19 countries and territories in Asia Pacific, Europe and North America are looking for Consultants to be part of the project

The Technology and Operations function is comprised of five teams of specialists with distinct capabilities: business partnership, technology, operations, risk governance and planning support and services. They work closely together to harness the power of technology to support our physical and digital banking services and operations. This includes developing, centralising and standardising technology systems as well as banking operations in Malaysia and overseas branches.

The client has more than 80 years of history in the banking industry and is expanding its footprint in Malaysia. The selected resource will be working in a newly setup technology centre located in Kuala Lumpur as part of Technology and Operations to deliver innovative financial technology solutions that enable business growth and technology transformation.

Responsibilities

Environment & Infrastructure Management

Manage AML application environments including setup, connectivity, configuration, upgrades, installations, and patching.

Support environment readiness across Development, SIT, UAT, and Production.

Coordinate with infrastructure teams for server, VM, and OS-related activities.

Application & Middleware Support

Provide L2 support for AML compliance applications.

Troubleshoot application, batch, and connectivity issues across environments.

Work with middleware and communication protocols such as SFTP, Connect:Direct, Control-M, IBM MQ, etc.

Development & Scripting

Develop and maintain automation scripts using Unix Shell (Bash/PowerShell).

Support application enhancements and fixes using Java.

Write and optimize Oracle SQL / PL/SQL queries, procedures, and scripts.

Use Python for automation and utility scripts (good to have).

Platform & Tools Management

Administer and support WebLogic application servers.

Manage deployments and environment configuration on Unix, Linux, and Windows OS.

Use version control tools such as Aldon, Bitbucket, Git, etc.

Release & Deployment Support

Support application deployments, release activities, and hotfix implementations.

Work with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins, Artifactory, SonarQube (good to have).

Ensure compliance with change and release management processes.

Monitoring, Documentation & Compliance

Monitor batch jobs, application health, and environment performance.

Maintain environment documentation, SOPs, and support runbooks.

Ensure AML systems adhere to compliance, security, and audit standards.

Skills

Must have

3-5 years of strong experience in Unix Shell Scripting (Bash / PowerShell)

Hands-on knowledge of Java and PL/SQL

Experience in environment/infra management (setup, connectivity, patching)

Proficiency in WebLogic, Linux/Unix/Windows OS, and VMs

Familiarity with middleware and schedulers (SFTP, Control-M, IBM MQ, Connect:Direct)

Experience with version control tools (Aldon, Bitbucket, Git)

Strong database skills in Oracle SQL / PL/SQL

Nice to have

Experience with Compliance Technology platforms (e.g., NetReveal, Actimize, Fiserv Continuity, TookiTaki etc)

Knowledge of AML/KYC, Transaction Monitoring (TM), Fraud Management (FMF), MLS

Banking domain experience, preferably in Group Compliance

Exposure to CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Artifactory, SonarQube)

Working knowledge of Python
