Why does this job exist and why is it critical?

Data is the new currency of the digital age — and ensuring its quality, structure, and usability is key to unlocking business insights. As a DevOps Intern in the Data and AI Centre of Excellence (CoE), you will contribute to enterprise-level data initiatives that support analysis, reporting, and smarter decision-making across Maxis. This role is critical in maintaining high standards of data governance and enabling data-driven transformation.

Key Responsibilities

• Support data cataloging activities to ensure structured, searchable, and well-documented data assets.
• Assist in data cleansing processes to improve the accuracy and usability of key datasets.
• Maintain and update data pipelines that feed into dashboards and reports used by internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate with DevOps and Data Engineering teams to streamline data operations and optimize workflow efficiency.
• Contribute to automation and monitoring of data processes to ensure smooth and reliable delivery of data services.
  
  

What projects will you be involved in?

• Participate in an Enterprise Data Project used by business users across departments for analytics and reporting.
• Help optimize the end-to-end data flow, from ingestion to visualization, ensuring data consistency and reliability.
• Gain hands-on experience working with real-world data platforms and DevOps tools in a production environment.
  
  

Preferred Skills And Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of data operations, ETL processes, and dashboard tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
• Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell) is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and a passion for working with data.
• Eager to learn, collaborate, and contribute to impactful, enterprise-wide digital projects.
