Job Summary
The Head of Remediation will set the strategic direction for the Remediation team and be accountable for the successful execution of all remediation services. This includes managing global workflows, ensuring operational excellence, growing the team’s capacity and capabilities, and collaborating across departments to drive innovation and client satisfaction.
The Director will serve as the subject matter expert on remediation processes and systems and play a key role in positioning remediation as a value-adding service within the broader due diligence and compliance landscape.
Leadership and Strategy, set the strategic direction for the Remediation function in alignment with the company’s compliance services strategy. Provide visionary leadership to the global Remediation team, instilling a high-performance culture with a strong emphasis on quality, timeliness, and client service. Lead continuous improvement initiatives across people, process, and technology to optimize service delivery and operational efficiency.
People Management, directly manage team leads and senior analysts; oversee staffing levels, skills development, succession planning, and team structure. Drive recruitment, onboarding, and training programs to attract and retain top talent. Foster a team environment that values diversity, inclusion, collaboration, and professional growth.
Client and Stakeholder Engagement, serve as a senior escalation point for complex or high-value client engagements. Collaborate with Client Success and Sales teams to understand client needs and tailor remediation solutions accordingly. Participate in client meetings, workshops, and presentations as a subject matter expert and service ambassador.
Operational Oversight, ensure remediation services are delivered in line with SLAs, client expectations, and industry best practices. Oversee global resource planning, ensuring effective workload distribution and prioritization across regions. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), quality assurance metrics, and turnaround times to assess and report on team performance.
Sales and Commercial Support, partner with the commercial team to support sales enablement, including proposals, RFP responses, and product demonstrations. Contribute to productization and pricing strategies for remediation offerings. Articulate the business value of remediation services to prospective and existing clients.
Subject Matter Expertise, act as the internal and external authority on remediation-related services, processes, and systems. Stay up to date on global regulatory developments, particularly those related to sanctions, anti-bribery, modern slavery, and ESG compliance. Identify opportunities to enhance the firm’s remediation methodology and tools through technology or process improvements.
Perform Remediation tasks, perform timely remediation (research related) tasks to remove false positives from IDD, IDD+ and OGM alerts against the Ethixbase360 platforms, and as requested by the clients. Where there is any doubt, escalate appropriately via line management for help.
Act as a liaison between client and other Ethixbase360 teams to update on progress of remediations, issue resolutions or new developments.
Contribute to the Client facing knowledge base by creating self-help material; updating existing self-help content; promoting the self-help to clients.
Continuously learning by updating your knowledge on new Ethixbase360 products areas, and related external technologies; proactively keeping up to date with the latest development in the Ethixbase360 product suite; make line management aware of personal development goals.
Adhering to client and Ethixbase360 procedures by ensuring you have read and understood client and Ethixbase360 procedure documents; asking for clarification where the procedures are unclear.
Compliance, executing the role in a manner that is consistent with all applicable laws and regulations and the long-term prosperity of the business.
Who you are
- Educated to Degree level with preferably 8+ years of experience in compliance, due diligence, or risk management; 3+ years in a senior leadership or department head role.
- Demonstrated success managing high-volume, deadline-driven operations across geographies.
- Deep familiarity with remediation tools, alert resolution workflows, and risk classification.
- Fluent in written and spoken English, additional language skills particularly Mandarin and Spanish are a bonus.
- Concise and clear presentation skills.
- Proven track record in relationship and network building, including proactively helping others, working within and contributing towards effective teams.
What else do you need to know
This role sits within the Remediation team, reporting directly to the Managing Director, Enhanced Due Diligence and Remediation, UK based. The role will work alongside Research team based in Penang, Malaysia and other functions globally.
