Major Responsibilities
- Implementation of the EHS Management System together with the EHS team at X-FAB Sarawak and X-FAB EHS Global
- Liaise with the Department of Environment (DOE) to ensure compliance to all regulations at the manufacturing facility
- Managing the scheduled and non-scheduled waste management including managing contractor on-site doing the waste collection for disposal and recycling.
- Responsible for handling duty as the competent person for CePSWaM and responsible for managing the eSWIS system for reporting to DOE as per statutory requirements.
- Conducting routine EHS Site Inspections and Audits to ensure that all EHS requirements are met
- Developing and implementing training and competency programs to support employees and on-site vendors
- Manage and conduct the EHS training program e.g. New Hire, OJT and Refresher for Chemical Safety and Waste Management
- Implementation of Chemical Management System which include Safety Data Sheet, Personal Protective Equipment program, medical surveillance.
- Coordinate medical surveillance with employees, arrangement with inhouse clinic, review medical results with ODS, continue monitor to improve employee health pertaining to workplace hazard exposure e.g. chemical, radiation, noise etc.
- To contribute towards the achievement of quality objectives by complying to the quality operating system and participating in continuous improvement activities (defect prevention, reduction of variation or prevention of waste)
- Follow-up findings closure with stakeholder for improvement (e.g. action items from EHS monitoring such as CHRA, LEV, Noise, stack and findings from internal audits)
- Assisting in implementing ISO14001 program as when required.
- Any other assignment deems fit that shall be given to you from to time
- Qualification: Minimum BSc or Engineering degree
- Experience: Minimum 2 or 3 years of experience preferably in waste management, environmental or/and industrial hygiene field
- Certified Environmental Professional in Scheduled Waste Management (CePSWaM) is preferred. Certified competent person in selected disciplines in Industrial Hygiene will be added advantage.

- Skills/Competencies:
- Equipped with sufficient technical skill and knowledge in line with responsibilities
- Critical thinking when assessing the compliance levels towards management system requirements
- Able to carry out problem solving with the intent of preventing non-compliance
- Strong administration skills – planning/organizing/,coordination & documentation
- Good communication skills – fluent in English/Malay (written and spoken)
- Customer service skills – serve internal and external customers
- Team work and collaboration skills with good sense of leadership
- Self-motivated and proactive with lots of dedication and enthusiasm
- Computer literacy in Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point
- Facilitation and presentation skills
- Understanding on the design and development of training preferred
