We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Field Service Engineer with a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering to join our team. This position will primarily focus on providing on-site service, maintenance, and support for critical electrical systems in data centers, including Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems. The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, along with a solid understanding of electrical systems and data center operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform installation, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, analyzes and prepare root cause analysis report (RCA), 24X7 support of UPS systems and other critical electrical equipment within data centers.
- Conduct preventive maintenance and repair tasks on UPS systems, power distribution units (PDUs), static transfer switch (STS), electrical panels, and related equipment.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues, including power outages, UPS failures, and system alarms, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Provide technical support for clients, answering queries and delivering solutions for electrical system issues.
- Maintain accurate documentation of service activities, including work orders, reports, and service history.
- Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to ensure seamless integration and operation of electrical systems in the data center.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company procedures while working on-site.
- Perform regular inspections and testing of electrical systems to ensure they are operating at peak performance.
- Assist with the training of junior engineers and technicians on electrical systems and best practices.
- Monitor and track system performance and suggest improvements to enhance efficiency and reliability.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Proven experience (2+ years) in field service engineering, specifically with UPS systems and data center electrical systems.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including UPS, Battery, STS, PDUs, transformers, and power distribution.
- Ability to troubleshoot, analyzes and prepare root cause analysis report (RCA) electrical issues, read and interpret electrical schematics, and perform hands-on repairs.
- Familiarity with data center operations and critical power systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Strong communication skills and ability to interact with clients and internal teams.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Knowledge of safety standards and procedures related to electrical systems.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with advanced UPS models and other backup power solutions.
- Familiarity with data center infrastructure management (DCIM) tools.
- Certifications in UPS maintenance, electrical safety, or similar fields are a plus.
