Position Summary
This key position serves as a finance business partner, supporting the Finance Director, Managing Director, and the General Manager.
Responsibilities: -
- Monitor the day-to-day financial operations of two business entities in Singapore.
- To perform daily finance works and complete monthly G/L reconciliation schedules.
- To work cohesively and support where required to, with the finance and operations team members in the Singapore Operations. This includes being involved in project teams on new business development – process flow development, adequate internal controls and compliance, user input and user testing.
- Manage the monthly accounts closing process and submit accurate reporting per set timelines.
- Provide financial reports, ad hoc financial analysis reports and interpret financial information to senior management team while recommending further courses of action.
- Analyze costs, pricing, variable contributions, sales and GP results and the company’s actual performance compared to the business plans/budget and forecasts.
- Liaise with external stakeholders as required and necessary:
- auditors and tax agent/consultant and ensure all statutory filing requirements are complied with;
- bankers and lawyers where there is a need;
- external business partners – day-to-day operational matters pertaining to finance, monthly statements and reconciliations, etc.
- Seek out methods for minimizing financial risk to the company.
- Understand and adhere to financial regulations and legislation. Stay up to date with the developments and requirements of relevant accounting standards and statutory legislation and requirements.
- Assist in preparing business cases for new opportunities/ projects in insurance to understand financial viability of new opportunities/ projects.
- Assist in putting together ad hoc specific business performance analysis and reports including financial modelling for management team, both local and regional, for review and discussion.
- Coordinate with counterparties on compliance with transfer pricing documentation and adherence on required records keeping and documentation.
Requirements:-
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or CPA, CA, or MIA certification.
- Previous experience working in a multinational company environment
- Prior managerial or supervisory experience
- Strong attention to detail
- Solid technical knowledge in accounting and taxation
- Proactive mindset with a commitment to continuously improving business processes and ensuring strict compliance with internal policies and statutory legal requirements
- Highly proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly with advanced Excel data analysis and manipulation skills, as well as PowerPoint.
- Strong knowledge of ERP systems and Hyperion.
- Self-driven and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
