Financial Controller

We are currently looking for Financial Controller for our client based in Subang Jaya.

1. Financial Reporting & General Ledger

• Manage and oversee the daily operations of the Accounting Department, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll.
• Ensure timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, compliant with Malaysia Accounting Standards.
• Prepare, analyze, and present comprehensive internal and external financial statements and reports to senior management.

2. Compliance, Audit, & Controls

• Develop, implement, and maintain robust internal controls and financial procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure data integrity.
• Coordinate and manage external audits (financial, tax) and serve as the primary liaison with external auditors and regulatory bodies.
• Ensure full compliance with all local, state, federal, and international tax reporting requirements.

3. Budgeting, Forecasting, & Analysis

• Assist the FP&A team in developing the annual operating budget and multi-year financial forecasts.
• Monitor performance against budget, analyze variances, and provide insightful financial commentary and business recommendations to department heads.
• Manage cash flow and oversee treasury functions.

4. Team Leadership & Development

• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of accountants and financial professionals.
• Continuously seek opportunities to optimize accounting processes and implement new technologies (ERP upgrades, automation).

Qualification

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in accounting and finance, with at least 2 years in a management or Controller-level role.
• Active certification: CPA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent designation is mandatory.
• Proven experience leading the month-end close process and managing external audits.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel
