About The Role

Work Location: 1Powerhouse, PJ (5mins walk from MRT Bandar Utama)

Reporting To: RTR Manager (Europe)

Working Hours: 2.00PM – 11.00PM / 3.00 PM -12.00 AM

General Ledger (GL) Controller plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of financial operations. GBS is the backbone of Kerry’s financial ecosystem—driving efficiency, compliance, and innovation across our global footprint. Our multilingual, collaborative teams support key finance functions including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Indirect tax, Intercompany, and Record-to-Report (RTR).The GL Controller leads a high-performing team within the RTR function, overseeing general ledger activities and month-end close processes. This role goes beyond operational delivery, it is a strategic partner in transformation, enabling cross-functional initiatives, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

RTR Governance & Collaboration

•   Lead the preparation and review of monthly management accounts, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and P&L analysis.
•   Partner with business functions on strategic initiatives such as new country integrations, acquisitions, and reorganizations.
•   Drive standardization and optimization of GL processes across entities
•   Collaborate with GBS Finance teams to ensure integrity of balance sheet items and financial data. Represent GBS on the balance sheets
•   Support internal and external audits, including year-end group reporting and audit file preparation.
•   Act as a key point of contact for technical accounting queries and support budget/projection reporting.
•   Champion data accuracy and integrity across all reporting outputs.

•   Lead, coach, and develop a diverse GL team, fostering a culture of accountability, growth, and collaboration.
•   Ensure effective workload distribution, cross-training, and succession planning.
•   Conduct performance reviews, provide regular feedback, and support career development.
•   Promote a consultative approach to problem-solving, working closely with business partners to deliver insights and solutions.
  
  

Qualifications And Skills

•   Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA), ideally ACA, with 10+ years of relevant experience.
•   Proven leadership experience (3–4+ years) in a GL or RTR function within a global or matrixed environment.
•   Strong technical knowledge of accounting principles and financial controls.
•   Proficiency in SAP and BPC; experience with audit and group reporting processes.
