Summary:

The Global Applications Senior Manager oversees the entire lifecycle of applications with a primary focus on SAP, ensuring alignment with business goals. Develop and implement strategic plans, provide technical leadership, and manage stakeholder and vendor relationships. The role involves monitoring and optimizing application performance, troubleshooting issues, and managing changes and releases. Additionally, lead and mentor teams, coordinate project execution, and ensure effective communication and collaboration among stakeholders. Perform risk management and ensure applications are scalable, secure, and maintainable. This senior manager role ensures business applications support the company's global business objectives efficiently and effectively

Job Responsibilities:

Application Portfolio Management

• Oversee the entire lifecycle of applications with a primary focus on SAP, from planning and implementation to maintenance and retirement.
• Ensure global applications are designed and operating in accordance with business objectives and technology standards.
• Conduct regular reviews and assessments of the application portfolio.
• Identify opportunities for application consolidation and modernization.
• Manage application decommissioning processes effectively.
  
  
  

Project Monitoring and Performance Optimization

• Monitor application performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement solutions to optimize user experience.
• Manage complexities and dependencies affecting project performance.
• Lead project initiation and planning, ensuring technical feasibility and resource allocation.
• Develop detailed project plans and track progress.
• Measure project performance using appropriate tools and perform risk management analysis.
• Define, measure, and communicate project KPIs to evaluate project health and quality.
• Collect and resolve outstanding issues and bugs promptly.
• Implement performance tuning and optimization techniques.
  
  
  

Strategic Planning

• Develop and implement strategies for application development, deployment, and support that align with the company's global business goals.
• Create long-term roadmaps for application evolution and innovation.
• Align application strategies with overall IT and business strategies.
• Identify emerging technologies and trends to incorporate into strategic plans.
• Ensure strategic plans are communicated and understood across the organization.
  
  
  

Technical Leadership

• Provide technical guidance and expertise to application development and support team, and team members.
• Lead and mentor application management teams, providing guidance and support to ensure their success.
• Step in as a team player when needed to help with business analysis, testing, or training activities.
  
  
  

Stakeholder and Vendor Management

• Collaborate with various stakeholders, including business users, IT teams, and vendors, to ensure applications meet their needs.
• Manage relationships with application vendors and ensure they meet contractual obligations.
• Coordinate with internal and external parties for the flawless execution of projects.
• Manage relationships between IT Organization and Business Stakeholders.
• Report and escalate to upper management as needed.
• Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among stakeholders.
  
  
  

Problem Resolution and Change Management

• Troubleshoot and resolve application issues to minimize business disruption.
• Manage application changes and releases smoothly with minimal user impact.
• Develop and maintain change management processes and documentation.
• Ensure thorough testing before deployment and effective communication of changes.
• Monitor the impact of changes and address any arising issues.
• Implement cost-neutral process enhancements leveraging technology.
  
  
  

Compliance and Internal Controls

• Ensure full adherence to Company’s accounting policies, processes, procedures, authorization levels, and SOX controls.
• Ensure full adherence to document retention as per the requirement by regulatory authorities in the specific country of operations/ business units.
• Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard Company’s assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of existing internal controls.
• Stay updated on accounting standards, regulations, and compliance requirements to ensure the Company's financial practices align with industry standards and legal obligations.
  
  
  

Service Level and Team Collaboration

• Promote a strong service ethos to support delivery to agreed Service Level Agreements.
• Act as the focal point to ensure effective communication and resolution of operational related issues and decisions.
• Build long-term relationships with Company’s internal stakeholders and leadership team.
• Work closely with other operation functions to ensure seamless coordination of financial activities.
  
  
  

Job Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Software Engineering, Business Administration or training with proven track record, any product or industry certification in SAP area is an added advantage.
• Minimum 7 - 10 years working experience in SAP, with at least 5 years of experience in managing a team.
• Experience with application management tools and technologies (example: SAP, Medius, HighRadius, EPM) as well as cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Strong knowledge of application development, deployment, and support technologies.
• Ability to lead and motivate teams, manage projects, and make strategic decisions.
• Ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders, both technical and non-technical.
• Ability to identify and resolve complex application issues.
• Understanding of business needs and how applications can support them.
