Job Purpose
- To plan and strategize for SME and commercial loans portfolio and manage the existing lending portfolio of Business Centre (BC) accounts with a view to maximize returns for the Bank.
- To lead and provide support, supervision and guidance to the Assistant Relationship Managers / Relationship Managers (RMs) and other staff of the Centre.
Sales Management
- Ensure new loans are in accordance to targets specified under the BC’s Annual Credit Plan.
- Review and track performance of the centre’s sales target.
- Provide guidance and advice to team members in implementing the Bank’s lending strategy.
- Ensure promptness of credit processing and reviews for accounts under the portfolio.
- Undertake the monitoring and review activities to ensure loan assets are in line with the Bank’s desired quality.
- Manage processes to ensure compliance to prescribed level of service standards.
- Conduct regular visits and meetings with top-end BC customers to enhance banker-customer relationship and service quality.
- Establish new business relationships and manage existing loans with a view to maximize utilization and reduce NPLs.
- Implement customer retention strategies and programs.
- Provide support and assistance to other Departments / Divisions within the Bank with matters relating to BC portfolio.
- Ensure up-to-date status reports on loan portfolio, income and other MIS reports.
- Ensure compliance of AMLA and act as the AML liaison officer for the centre.
- Undertake duties as BCP coordinator and Operational Risk Coordinator (ORC) for the centre.
- Champions Operational Risk Management (ORM) activities in the Business Unit.
- Liaise with Group Operational Risk Management (GORM) on ORM activities.
- Responsible to report ALL operational defects (Actual Losses, Potential Losses and Near Miss Events including Shariah Non – Compliance [SNC] events) via Loss Event Database (LED) in timely manner.
- Utilize the Operational Risk (OR) Tools i.e. Risk Control Self-Assessment (RCSA), Key Control Standard (KCS), Key Risk Indicators (KRI) and Scenario Analysis (ScAN) in managing Risk exposure.
- Undertake additional responsibilities assigned by immediate superior as and when required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in any relevant discipline, preferably in Banking & Finance or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years of banking experience with exposure to credit risk management and SME/Commercial including credit processing and evaluation.
- Strong command of Bahasa Malaysia and English, both oral and written.
- Public speaking and presentation skills.
- Overall Bank’s Credit, Operations and Product knowledge.
- Keep abreast with current economic conditions, policies and trends in the country.
- Basic business acumen and industry knowledge.
